Zeljko Ivanek to Hunt Heroes in Fugitives

Written by Sam | October 19th, 2008 | 7 Comments |

Fans of Homicide: Life on the Streets should be giddy about now, because if you love that show, and you love Heroes, then one of the best character actors out there today who used to work on the former show has just joined the latter show. Or at least, he will be. Zeljko Ivanek, who played A.D.A. Ed Danvers on Homicide: Life on the Streets (and who just won an Emmy for his role in the cable TV show Damages), has been cast on Heroes as the enigmatically named “The Hunter”. What exactly will he be hunting? How about our Heroes? Ivanek will be making his first appearance in Episode 14 of Season 3, the very first episode of the season’s new volume, “Fugitives”, which kicks off a new storyline after the events in the current “Villains” volume.

More from Kristin over at E! Online:

According to insiders, the Hunter’s first appearance is in episode 14, which kicks off Volume Four: Fugitives. (Heroes creator Tim Kring is writing the Fugitives premiere!)

I’m told that Volume Four will begin in late January or early February 2009, and since it is all about fugitives, the role of the Hunter sounds pretty key, don’t you think? Tommy Lee Jones has nothing on this newbie, from what I hear…

Zeljko Ivanek is not exactly an imposing figure, so my guess is that to make up for the lack of height and physical menace, his character will probably have a power that makes him a formidable foe for the fugitive Heroes he’ll be hunting. Then again, they could make him a good guy, but look at the face below: Zeljko Ivanek was born to play the guy you don’t want to cross.

Thanks to Raissa for the heads up.

Wow this guy definitely has the slightly creepy factor going for him. Looks like “the hunter” is going to be a very interesting character!

So Tim Kring is writing that episode himself, eh? Expect it to be underwhelming.

I’d heard this fellow was recruited for hunting and I figured he’d be in the “Fugitives” volume.

Jeez, he looks so bad ass. He certainly ranks along Arthur, Sylar, Adam and Hiro for bad-assness.

I think what someone said above about the government might be a lead. Im sure they will find out about powers soon. Perhaps his name ‘The Hunter’ might be like he hunts down heroes and might even ‘collect’ all the people with powers and might not kill them but use them to show off/personal gain - he might have an eric doyle type power where he can control people, but i think they should make it something new and has that ‘wow’ factor
