According to the Hollywood Reporter, Thomas Dekker, who plays Claire’s outcast best friend Zach on “Heroes”, will be leaving the show to join the cast of “The Sarah Conner Chronicles”, the TV series based on the sci-fi “Terminator” movie franchise. Thomas will be playing the role of young John Conner, who in the movies, grew up to lead the human rebellion against rampaging machine overlord Skynet.
Written by Josh Friedman, the project takes place after the events depicted in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” and follows Sarah Connor (Lena Headey), a modern warrior and loving single mom to 15-year-old son John (Dekker).

I think it’s great he’s going (actually, I guess he’s gone). It sounds like a good opportunity for him and it’ll be better for the show. There are a lot of blogs saying that Dekker’s management was full of it and trying to dictate storylines. I just hope the new shows doesn’t bomb - he’ll never be invited back to Heroes.

I think it’s sad, oddly enough. I can’t imagine seeing anyone else in his place, and I’ve even seen the new trailor. The new actor makes me cringe.
