Will the Emmys Nominate Masi Oka?

The Variety guys have an article about how Hollywood is lagging behind when it comes to recognizing actors of color (i.e. minorities, non-whites) for Emmy nominations. Of course the irony is that Hollywood has always been the loudest voice when it comes to this, telling the rest of America to be more open-minded, when the last time a Latina woman was nominated for an Emmy was over 30 years ago. Are the Emmy voters seriously telling us that there hasn’t been a worthy Latina actress in those 30 years? I think not.

Anyways, Variety mentions the possible list of Emmy nominees, including Heroes’ Masi Oka:

Ferrera is far from the only minority Emmy hopeful. “Grey’s Anatomy” docs Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson, “Heroes’” Masi Oka, “Lost” survivors Naveen Andrews and Daniel Dae Kim, “The Unit” boss Dennis Hasybert, “Battlestar Galactica” admiral Edward James Olmos, “The Wire” addict Michael K. Williams and “30 Rock” comic Tracy Morgan are all among the contenders of color.

It would be nice if Masi got nominated, but to be honest, I don’t think he’s even the best actor on Heroes. If I had a vote, I would give one to Adrian Pasdar (Nathan), another to Jack Coleman (HRG), and a final nod to Ali Larter (Niki/Jessica), who probably has to work twice as hard as everyone in the cast because of her character.

And oh yeah, how about another one for Zachary Quinto? The guy oozes evil — and yet, you don’t really hate him. How’s that for a villain?
