The pilot really doesn't say either way. He's portrayed as a loner, an outsider who has always been considered "weird" I think. But I don't think he's gay; or at least, it didn't come through in the pilot.

I think Claire and Zach being together might be nice at first, but for some reason I don't really like Zach as much as some others do. I kinda hope some other superpowered teen comes in and hooks up with Claire instead.
