Just wondering what people thought about the "Lost episodes" that Comedy Central is running. Chapelle is really pissed off that they're doing it. I thought they were insanely funny and Dave just needs to get back on the weed. He's no fun of the pipe apparently.
Chappelle is a riot, but you could sorta see the problem brewing. I mean 90% of every skit he did on his show involved drugs or weed. I was one of those folks who wasn't surprised at all when he ran off to africa.
I have always loved his comedy... Half Baked is really funny, and I have always enjoyed his stand up... His show is still funny, but I am not suprised he's pissed about them running the lost episodes... They didn't even show the funniest ones on T.V... The best ones from the lost episodes are all on the DVD... Good stuff.

David Chappelle is really funny, but I think he really is afraid of becoming "too successful". He would wind up spending time trying to act like people think he's supposed to act and lose his own identity. I'd run away from that, too.

I got to see Chappelle live in orlando a few months back and it was one of the funniest stand ups i've ever seen. It ranked right in there with Dane Cook (who i've also seen live). He even kind of hinted at the fact that he might be coming back. He kept refering to everything as a game and he gave this big long deep story at the end of his stand up about a hooker and her pimp and stuff. The story wasn't funny, but it was interesting and he used that story to explain 'the game' and why he went to africa and to me was kind of a hint that he was going to bring the show back. i might be wrong though

No, Dave was interviewed by Oprah some weeks ago and he was talking about resurrecting the show there, as well. The problem he ran into with the original show was he felt things were getting out of control and he didn't have final say on some things. I don't blame him--if my name is on the show, then I get final say as to its content and direction, not network big-wigs.
He really just needed some time to destress, as we all do sometimes.
