Wow! Their own Comic Book!? How many readers do you think they’ll have? I mean, is the winner going to write their comic book, or is Marvel going to bring in a hired gun? (Edited: Not Marvel comics, but rather Stan Lee's Dark Horse Comics)
Has anyone else read the “Superhero’s” synopsis? Some of them are comedic, but most of them border on the bizarre and others are utterly flippant. Who are going to be these character’s villains? The dastardly evil Fruit Nut (For Fat Mamma)? Mr. Cell Phone Bill (For Cell Phone Girl)?
This just strikes me as a series devoted to one thing: allowing downcast individuals to eat a bag of potato chips, point, and laugh at the TV screen for the duration of the series. It’s Jerry Springer for comic book fans. At least, that is my perception without ever having seen an episode. Let’s just say I’m pessimistic about this adventure.
Here, let me create a superhero that resembles the absurdity in some of the heroes in that show:
Superhero name: Super Pudgy Boy
Secret identity: J. Joseph Howe, chemist, age 26.
Super powers:
- • Noxious Flatulence used to subdue evildoers
• Strength and Speed of a Sumo wrestler
• A Hearty Chortle that can cause an earthquake to make evil “Shake in their boots”
• Able to eat copious amounts of junk food
• No villain can withstand him sitting on them
Vulnerability:
- • Fruits and Vegetables
• Never having known the love of a woman
• Cubs fan
Fighting for… “The freedom to eat delicious yet toxic foods”
Catch Phrase: “Smell my thunder!”
From my own super powered computer: Using his superpowers to fight evildoers every day, Super Pudgy Boy learns through self-discovery that although he is Super he is really a complete and utter loser.
Great! Now I have created a superhero! Can I have my comic book now?
Does anybody else want to join me in the downright absurdity and insaneness by creating a Superhero ala Stan Lee’s “Who Wants to be a Superhero”?
