Diego's day at the bay
Needless to say I know nothing about the direction of the show nor am I connected in any way with the show. I do not nor will I gain any monetary compensation from my words. They are simply the machinations of my own imagination.
That being said here is my meager contribution to the fan fiction thread.
Sunlight streamed through the dirty window revealing the swirling dust in the air and the piles of dust and grime on the floor. Diego lay on a dirty mattress inside the abandoned warehouse. He could hear the rats running around the floor and the distant sound of boat horns in the bay.
“Geez, not again,” blank groaned. He wondered how long he had been lying there and just where he was. I must be down on the docks somewhere. “I gotta get off this stuff he said as he rolled his left sleeve down to cover the needle marks. Diego stumbled down the stairs and quickly covered his eyes as the sunlight seared his retinas. The stench finally pierced he clogged sinus’ and rewarded him with an aroma that would wake the dead. “Just what I needed,” he said as he bent over and dry heaved onto the broken dirty pavement. Diego stood up and walked towards the sound of the tugboats in the harbor. After five minutes of walking Diego realized that some of the stench that he couldn’t get out of his nose was his own stench. The stench of sweat and urine clung to his clothes like mold to a shower wall. The salty air of the harbor seemed to bring his mind back in order and he began to head towards the city to try to get home.
It didn’t take long for him to begin seeing more and more cars and he realized that he was going the right direction. Images began to flood his mind and he walked towards home. Diego grabbed his head to try to ward off the inevitable pain that came with these images that he had been painting lately. Some of the images were nice enough, but most were ugly painful images that corrupted his entire being. Diego began to quicken his pace. “I gotta paint this image out of my head,” he thought as he hurried as fast as he could.
Diego began to look around him for a car. He thought maybe he could find one with the keys in it or something. As he came to a corner he saw a taxi approaching. He hailed the taxi and jumped in as it pulled up. “Take me to 1830 Jackson Avenue,” Diego mumbled. Diego looked at the cab driver’s license and wondered how well he spoke English. He had an Indian name and the picture fit. Maybe I can just bolt when we get near and the guy will never be able to really tell anyone much. At least maybe his accent will be thick enough that they will not understand him.
“You feel okay mister,” the cab driver asked.
“Great,” thought Diego perfect English. “Uh, yeah I just have the flu or something.”
“Have you lived here long the driver?”
“Listen, Murhandier, I don’t feel well can you just take me where I need to go? No offense man, Ok?”
“No problem just trying to be friendly.”
“Thanks,” Diego said as he looked out the window for a good spot to jump out and get away.
After a couple of blocks Diego’s chance came at a busy intersection. Diego grabbed the handle and bailed out to the back of the cab and dove into the crowd. Murhandier simply smiled and looked at Diego as he disappeared into the crowd, “see you soon my friend.”
kewl. You weave a good story. I really like the way you explain how his senses react to his habit. Working in Murhandier, especially giving us the sense that he knows all about Diego, really gives the reader the desire to find out how he knows. Just like a junkie seeking his next hit!

Diego is the junkie who can see the future, right? Hey how about writing about when he decides to cut off his hand? That would make a great read!
tobnameless is it alright if I "borrow" 1830 Jackson Avenue for my next installment? Just trying to add to the interconnectedness. That, and I'm lazy and the less amount of names and places I make up, the better.

I want to see Diego (I thought his name was Isaac though... is Diego the last name) fight with his girlfriend. :P Don't they have a fight about his getting high?
Yes, I believe we have a discrepancy here. In the link provided by theultimatehero, the junkie’s name is Diego. However, in 2 links below the junkie’s name is Isaac.
Anyway, regardless of what ends up to be the correct name of the junkie, I hope everyone can understand the confusion caused by this on both sides. Hopefully, someone will have a definitive answer with a link to verify it soon.

Yeah, this is really starting to perplex me. TV.com link here also has the junkie who can paint the future as Diego Medina. But if you click on the cast tab on the top of the site, they have no information on Diego Medina or who he is being played by. On the other hand, they have Santiago Cabrera playing the role of Isaac Mendez, but have no information on the character of Isaac! This is getting weird. :? (Edited: I think I might have solved this - check back in a few minutes)
Okay, if you go to the TV.com link above in this post, click on the tab for pictures, you will see 21 pics dealing with Heroes. Check out the 11th & 12th pics. At the site, under the picture, it has the name of Santiago Cabrera! This is signifying the character of Isaac Mendez. Now, it isn't a full proof, but either Isaac is the junkie or he is a very close friend of Diego. Since the 11th pic has a pic of Santiago pointing out the painting to Tawny Cypress, I think it is Isaac who is the junkie.

1. You or anyone can borrow from me at anytime without the need to ask.
2. I don't remember which site I pulled the name from Diego from perhaps it was an early release site that I was viewing. I will make a correction in the next installment that I do.
