Jeph Loeb,
according to Wikipedia, is working on
Heroes as a writer and co-executive producer. (I tried finding it on another website to confirm it, but so far I have had some trouble. It is mentioned as rumors in some
forums talking about the Heroes review on the futon critic that he will join in by the second episode.) Before this, however, he has also served as a writer and supervising producer for
Smallville and
Lost. Since Loeb has written for
Superman comics, he was brought in on
Smallville for his knowledge of Superman and faithfulness to the comics.
Mainly a comic book writer (
Batman: Hush, Superman/Batman, Supergirl, Batman: The Long Halloween, The Ultimates). He collaborated with Tim Sale for most of his best work in comic books. (Tim Sale does the artwork for
Heroes and
according to wikipedia Tim Sale suffers from color blindness ). Below are some of the comic book awards Jeph Loeb has won:
Awards won
Eisner Award (3X) - creative achievement in comic books (part of comic con proceedings in San Diego
1998 award for Best Finite Series/Limited Series (Batman: The Long Halloween)
1999 award for Best Graphic Album: Reprint (Batman: The Long Halloween)
2002 award for Best Graphic Album: Reprint (Batman: Dark Victory)
Wizard Fan Awards (5X) - given out by a comics magazine (Wizard)

So, if Loeb joins the fun, he will be the third guy with direct ties to
Lost. joining Jesse Alexander and Greg Grunberg (These last 2 also having been apart of
Alias). Tim Kring has a partial tie to
Lost via working with Damon Lindelof.
