Caught the last 10 minutes of the Australia v Croatia game.
2-2 A Draw Woohooo that means Croatia is out and we go through to the 16, best ever effort for the Aussies in the world cup.

might have been the sealer in that 0 - 3. But you did well against Italy 1 - 1.
Fingers crossed we can do as well or even better, we play them on monday.

I watched all 3 games of the USA's, as well as an England match and parts of others. I really don't watch soccer/football often, which I believe is the case for most Americans of the US. Therefore, it really is a pity that we didn't advance because going deep into the World Cup might have increased awareness of the sport at home. However, countries that live and die by their team would have it much worse than us if they didn't advance, so it's probably for the best.

Regardless of the fouls, we probably weren't good enough to advance. Without that penalty kick for Ghana, the score would have been 1-1, not enough for us to advance. However, it was hard to take that loss given the officiating. Is it common practice in soccer/football to take a nap on the field in order to stop play when you are exhausted like a Ghana player did at the end of the match? Shouldn't that be a yellow card? Again, very new to the sport.

Hahaha , yeah some of the officials choices during the game play have been jaw dropping to say the least.
I'm sure there would be more than a few teams protesting results that's for sure.

I'm not much of a soccer (football) fan, but wow, I really got into it during the American matches. They were really fun and exciting! Now I sort of understand why my foreign friends are so nuts about it. It's sooo fun!

BTW all the officiating sucks. Everyone was going nuts about the American-Italy game. We were lucky to tie that one!

So true, so true. Everyone forgets that we had one more player than Italy for 17 minutes and we didn't even sniff a goal. It was crucial to maximize the advantage (when we had it) in a game we desperately needed to win.

Wasn't the US ranked #5 in all the world going into this World Cup? No wonder everyone was calling the team a major disappointment.
