Default Is this a full season or a half-season?

I was wondering. Is NBC ordering the full year or half the year, so they can wait to see the ratings before deciding? I hope it's a full season. I really hate it when they pull a show halfway into the season like they did with "Threshold".

i hope it's a full season. i was a fan of "threshold" too and when they cancelled it halfway through, that realy blew big chunks.

Well, we can't really know right now. Usually when shows get "picked up," even for Fall series, it's only for a few episodes...at first. Then once the ratings for the first few episodes come in, the network decides if they want to order more.

If the show does well, it will most likely end up being a full 22 episode season. It's actually more likely to be canceled completely than to end up with a short season.

Fingers crossed! I would just hate for it not to catch on and all we get is a lousy half season. That would really suck.

yeah I was suprised to hear my sister signed a 7 year contract.
In fact, these things are always tricky...so it could last just the 13 eps.

I'm sure it's just 13 episodes solid, with some kind of option for the remaining seasons.

So everybody needs to watch it!!

So far, based on the pilot, critics are expecting HEROES to be the best, and most original series of tv.
I guess we'll see...

Heh, that's funny. No one signs a 7-year contract. Guy must be smoking crack.

I wouldn't be surprised if she did sign a 7-year contract. For franchise movies it's fairly standard for actors to sign a 3-movie deal. All the main actors in the Spider Man movies did, as well as X-Men. Shawn Ashmore was in X-Men 2 and signed a 3-picture deal. I think Christian Bale did as well for Batman.

It doesn't necessarily mean that three movies are going to be made, or that the network is committing to seven seasons of a show, but it does help hold down costs by keeping them from having to renegotiate salaries as much for every movie or season.

Very true, ray. But it's probably like in sports -- everyone signs a deal, but everyone wants to negotiate after a good year.

I would expect the show to get picked up for the standard 22 (give or take) episodes if ratings are decent.
