my opinion

This forum has really gone down hill even over the course of the one year that I have been a member. I joined for fan reasons of course but also because I thought I would be interacting with some like-minded folks on various topics, etc. I haven't seen anything remotely intellectual happening in many months and have resulted in lack of even a second thought as to whether or not I would spend my time here.
I'm not saying this as a way to bash the site. Actually, I'm saying this as maybe a way to open ones eyes in the scheme of things to broaden horizons and delve into something more, well, just more.
I tried bringing in new members myself over time, but it was the same for them. Really, there's a certain personality dominating the forum that most regular folk don't care to interact with nor does that certain group choose to interact with many new or different individuals joining. Sad really since they are the ones that new members base whether or not this site is worth their time.
This is why most fans stick to the front page only and don't delve into the extended forum for conversations and such.
Advice, get out of the whole teeny bopper high school and college scene and try an older approach to things. You may be surprised where the fans thoughts lie if could get past talking about someone's new tattoo, who has the most homework, or what color should I die my hair. I mean really. Get your thumb out of your butt people.

Well Offbeat, I would have to say that I respectfully agree and disagree with your OPINION. I will not dare to try to speak for everyone on the forum. I'm just giving my OPINION as well.

Whether they are Heroes related or not; from Count To A Million and Thread Just For Talking or Sam posting the weekly promo images and updates. Just because YOU as an INDIVIDUAL are not satisfied with just these types of threads/posts in this forum does not mean that the quality of it has gone down in the past year.

That is solely and completely up to YOU as an INDIVIDUAL to change. You dont see anything "remotely intellectual" going on........>THEN CHANGE IT!!! Make a thread that people will want to talk in. You just cant say that theres is nothing intellectual going on if you dont try to initiate one. If thats the case they according to you, you are apart of the "PROBLEM" not a solution. You can't complain about something that you dont like if you havent tried to change it unsuccessfully first.

But then, this is just my opinion.

P.S. If this was your first attempt at trying to make a "remotely intellectual" thread, then I would have to Give you a 5.

EDIT: All of us are mature enough post what we want on this forum, where we want to and I was alittle offended when you said basicly that everyone acts like "teeny bops" like what do you mean?
That being said, I haven't had a problem with this forum or its members. I do not look for fights online, I just post like a normal member. Just like most of us do.
And like Superman said, If YOU have a problem with this forum than try to fix what you think the problem is.

Also, Offbeat, did it ever occur to you that a reason why people (once again speaking for myself) sign on to forums such as this is to exscape reality and all of society's problems. Who wants to sit here and debate about whether Obama is a good president when he hasnt even been in office for a whole year yet. Or how about how none of the soldier's are back from their deployments, Where in the world is Osama Bin Laden (sorry I know im being serious but in my head i couldnt help but think about Carmen San Diego lol).
Better yet, how is this for current events. No more than 3 hours ago, 7 people were shot and killed with multiple injuries as well at Fort Hood, Texas. For all of you that didnt know, that is an ARMY base. Do you seriously want to talk about all of that. Or would you rather have a place that you can exscape the stress of work, college, high school, the gov't cheese line. Who really wants to talk about depressing stuff that they have to deal with in their lives at the moment. Life is hard. You have to learn how to seek out the joys of the world.

Oh and FYI (since its been said on here two or three times already, i figured i would add another lol)
towards the end of BB's Tattoo, we all had a "decently intellectual" conversation about politics. You never know when, where or what thread you can spawn a good debate/conversation from.

Correction, Thats 12 dead. 31 wounded. There were 3 POSSIBLE shooters. ALL OF THEM WERE SOLDIERS.................NOW I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY FELLOW SOLDIERS AS WELL AS "TERRORISTS"........................WHO THE FLYING FU<K WANTS TO THINK ABOUT THAT?????????

Honestly, I think that these kinds of threads are not neccessary. I mean its like the hostile thread from yesterday that I guess was deleted, but I'm starting to feel kind of hated on her right now. I mean granted at some points during my altercations with Raichi, I didnt stop like I should have, but ever since, I just feel like with her friends its constant BB and Dusky bashing.
I really enjoy the forum, and it sucks that its not as active right now and is in a bit of a slump, but I still love it here and I've made some really cool friends, I mean I talk to Esquin all the time, and I text Spok and Dusky in real life, and I really enjoy so many other people on here, but i really kind of hurts when people say it I just caused a bunch of problems, or my threads that I post are teeny bopper.

I mean I was a heroes fan at first, I just couldnt keep up with the show, so I honestly havent seen an episode in a while. The last episode I saw was the one where Claire cut her toe off, but I still like roleplaying. I know this is a site about heroes, but we dont have to talk specifically about heroes. The other threads are there, because Sam decided to put them there when he created the site. I'm almost at 14,000 posts, and less than 100 of them have been actually about the show, the majority being the RPG, but the other ones are important too. I think its kind of unfair to blame the site slowing down because we talk about things like tattoo's, hair dying and school. I mean thats life, thats stuff that happens in life, and its nice to get away from the drama in real life sometimes.

I love it here and I plan on staying, but I just dont want everyone thinking Im this horrible person because I let someone get to me. I'm sorry for the way I acted, and I know I should have just walked away at some points, but I'm only human, just like everyone else.
