Abilities DO exist! I've had real-life experiences of them!
E.g. I can feel what others feel, aka, empathy, and I also have noticed that i've had some amount of increased agility and DEFFO increased flexibility, like proper increased! Something strange is happening!

Ever had the feeling something good or bad is about to happen to you? No? Neither have I
Woo, cartwheels all the way dudes! (Lol don't ask)
If you want strange try being a walking random event magnet.
I've figured out various laws of probability state that random events tend to "clump" or appear together. Now, consider the ramifications of "attracting" random events. It would look like the guy was just damned lucky all the time (or unlucky depending on how the situation turned out). I could name a million different events where the most unlikely thing happened, or amazing Rube Goldberg like series of events have happened around me. You want strange, unlikely or just plain F$%#ed up? Talk to this guy.
Empathy isn't really an ability. More like an instinct. Subcontiously, facial expression, movements and even speech can easily give off the right impression of the current mood to someone who is attentive. It's not an ability. It's a skill.
And your other thing, that's just because your flexible. I bet all the money that I have that I can find people who are more flexible than you.
Did you know that after a good stretching, your body will feel extremely light? Also, I can do things like this... (the following pictures are obviously not of me but I can't find any of me so they'll ahve to do)
My favourite, this...
And on rare occasions were I'm feeling really light on my feet, this...
Not abilities. These are naturally given gifts of our human body. Not to come on you hard but I always love a good argument which is one of the sad trait I share with Esquin. So unless you tell me you can read minds, freeze objects or defy gravity and fly, I ain't gonna believe nuts.
On a side note, Pyrokinesis doesn't count. Our human body has already been given all the neccesary substance needed to create fire ourselves. We just don't know how to yet.
Parkour is an amazing skill. It's on my "to-do list" before I die. I'm going to learn it, and use it to my advantage. You make your body into a tool, and use everything you go to get from point A to point B. It's basically like, feral instincts, kind of. It's really cool. I've seen videos for it.
I would love to believe abilities exist... but I don't.
The closest thing to a 'real' ability I think we could ever see in real life would be maybe something to with psychics or dreaming about things that will happen. Like deja vu and stuff....
I believe telekinesis exists, as well as variations of superhuman strength/speed (adrenaline bursts and such).
Telekinesis, obviously, I can't explain, but I do think it exists.
Now, things like controlling fire and water and such, that's kind of unbelievable to an extent. If one can control telekinesis (if it exists), then one can theoretically control fire/water/earth.
I believe more in Talents then in Abilities.
Talents like being incredibly intelligent when working with math.
Talents like learning a martial art form without much effort.
Abilities however, like telekineses, i don't believe in, until i witness it with my own eyes, and am given the opportunity to see it again in a situation i control.
Thus far I've only seen talents like being born extremely agile without being trained.
I call it a talent, because when your are gifted with a talent, usually you also have a less then ideal talent in something that is the opposite of your natural talent.

Well some people in the real world do have some great gifts, even thou they them self may think of it more of a curse.
Look up remote viewing, our own government did psychic experiments. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_viewing
Being an empath myself, I hate it. because mostly pick up on negative feelings and emotions, and there are times, thankfully rare that I don't know my own feelings from those around me.

"Oh to be nothing"
Currently, the only sort of super-ability I would consider possible would have to be Echo's character, Amanda Petro's Precognitive Dreaming. The human mind is an amazing thing, capable of accessing a plane that is much more complex than anyone can imagine. This is where the supposed empaths come from. Along with people with Remote Viewing. Subconsiously, our minds are working at a rate that far surpasses any super computer. But that's only subconsiously. This results in us having instincts. I beleive that instincts comes from our mind analysing a situation subconsiously and if there are any significant detail, would tell us of the ongoings like someone standing behind you or a person feeling sad.
But back to Precognitive Dreaming. I believe that Deja Vu are a link to this advance mental plane us human could access if only we were more evolved. Through many personal experiences, I conclude that Deja Vus (or mine at the very least), stems from previous dreams. I am still deciding on whether or not to keep a dream journal to keep track of my dreams. Would definitely prove to be interesting.
