Persona: Julian is certainly a loner, but anyone who gets to know him can see his upstanding morals seems to have no end. Once someone gains his trust he is loyal to the end. This man will fight to the death to protect his family and friends. He has a tendency to be stubborn at times and can even have a temper if pushed enough but normally can keep his cool. When given the chance he is quite down to earth and laid back with close friends. The only problem is getting past the wall he builds around himself.


Backstory:

Julian was born in Rockport, Maine to a family of three, his mother, father, and older sister. Life was normal for the boy throughout elementary and middle school. Until late one night Julian’s freshmen year of high school he saw his father arguing with someone out on the docks. Then somehow… he did not know how, his father touched a man and froze him. The frightened teen stayed hidden behind the stack of lobster traps he had been walking by before, and watched his father dump the body in the ocean. He had no clue his father was apart of a good organization that saved people, and that a villain had just been put to rest…. He only saw a violent act and began to hate his father.

About a year passed and Julian grew distant from his family. No one knew why the once exuberant and cheerful boy had become a loner…. And such an angry person. Julian began to hang out with a bad crowd of kids and started pulling pranks around town. In such a small town it was easy for shop owners to figure out who stole their outdoor pricing signs or their mannequins. His behavior only grew worse as did his absolute loathing for his Dad. Then his father, Henry Decker, died. Just like that he was gone. Everyone said it was a hit and run, an accident…. Julian knew there was probably more to it than that. It was then that their old family friend Steven stopped by to have a chat with Julian.

He explained everything to the 16 year old, and life changed for Julian. The teen explained what he had seen and Steve explained it was some criminal by the name of Mark Schwall who his father killed. Apparently that night Mark stopped by to threaten Julian’s father. Mark said he would kill his wife and children… that was when Henry froze him and ended it all.

With Steve’s new explanation Julian’s views did a 180. He was confused and trying to process everything, and it was not easy to let go of the anger he had let burn inside him for so long. But he decided to join the group of do-good riders in honor of his father. After thinking so ill of his father for so long, it was the least he could do. So Julian dropped out of high school and became one of them and made the bar on route 66 a second home. His family never heard much from him again, since he wanted to avoid someone threatening him like they did his father. Being close to family was dangerous business… He actually started out not having any power or ability but learned of the power others possessed. So Julian accomplished his first few missions as a regular old human which was not easy. But late one night when he stopped by the bar while tracking a small time criminal he got into a heated argument about his father with another rider. Let’s say his power finally kicked in and said man got half his face burnt by accident. He eventually leanred to control his pyrokinesis though and found he could create fire from his hands and manipulate it other ways as well. But the key was the only fire he could manipulate was fire he created himself, and only as long as it was in contact with his body. Once he let go of a ball of fire he could not bring it back, or make it grow as it burned something.

So now Julian stands by The Code with faithful dedication still after 19 years of membership. He does not know too many of the other bikers all that well since he has a terrible tendency to take on everything by himself. The loner ways he developed as a teen have yet to leave… even if Steven is trying to beat it out of him slowly.


Important Events:

*the death of Madeline, a young woman he fell in love with about five years ago. She was killed by one of the enemies he gained by being a Paladin. Julian figures this is another reason to be alone most of the time, it saves lives.

*Death of Gabriel, which he blames himself for. The first time he's worked in a team and he manages to get somebody killed... an immortal somebody!
