Blood-Fueled Hyper-Metabolism (Healing and Strength) By consuming a pint of blood at the minimum, Alex can regenerate damaged tissue for 24 hours, and has increased strength as well. Additional pints have a reduced duration beyond the first, and force him to feed frequently in order to maintain his abilities.

Short Bio:
Growing in the outskirts of Seattle, Alex enlisted in the Army at age 18 and became 91K (Laboratory Technician), and fufilled his basic contract of 4 years without incident, he re-enlisted twice and decided to leave the Army at 10 years of service. Using his GI Bill, he began going to school to become a forensic investigator, splitting his spare time between kendo, a night job as a lab tech in a local blood bank, and his girlfriend Stacy. Having grown up as a handy-man, Alex was always fixing something around the apartment, helping his neighbors, and generally staying busy, until one night, shortly after an eclipse, he had a small accident while cutting some laminent flooring, making a deep gouge in his hand.
On instinct, he brought it to his mouth and began sucking, and was surprised by the amount of blood that came out. He swallowed it, and decided to inspect his hand over the bathroom sink. By the time he got there, the bleeding had stopped, and the wound had nearly sealed. He watched in awe as it knitted closed right before his eyes.
Not entirely sure what was going on, he grabbed a utility knife and after much internal conflict and indescision, he gave himself a quick slice, nothing too deep or dangerous. Again, the cut sealed.
Baffled and slighty afraid, he decided not to do anything about it at the present, just pretend things were normal.
A week later, he was at work, groggy, using his free time between samlpe testing and removing expired stock for destruction when he slipped on some condensation from a faulty air conditioner and crashed into a plate glass door for a storage unit. The glass shredded his lab coat and left deep fissures of exposed muscles and severed tendons visable.
Alex lay there, propped into the fridge, drifing into shock and bleeding to death. He spent his moments considering what his life had been, what had happened, and why he wasn't healing like before.
He relived that instance over and over and sough to find the reason his healing was so miraculous when so minor, but entirely lacking when he was at the door of death. Then he remembered the feeling, something his had missed when it first happened, a tingling of his tongue, a hunger. He didn't put his hand to his mouth because it hurt, but because he was thirsty.
And Alex was thirsty now, a parched feeling he never had in his life, not in the desert when they were operating out of tents with only a few generators pouring all their juice into keeping the CASH's equipment running, not on the dried muddy ground of Ft Benning, Georgia, not on the hottest day in the summer. This was different.
I have nothing else to lose he thought, as he took his only good hand and reached for one of the several broken and leaking bags of blood scattered around him. With a disbelieving smirk, he put it to his mouth and began to drink, the cold, thick life flowing through him. He could taste the iron or it, the bitter taste of survival. It was a defining moment, a realization that life wasn't ordinary, simple, or what we saw, it was something else, something more, he was something more.
Before he even got out of his haze, his body was better than new. The shredded clothes stained with his blood and others was all that remained of his injuries.
After a confrontation with Stacy after he was unable to hide his ability, he packed everything and moved to New York, hoping to become another forgotten face in the massive concrete jungle. He took another lab job, hoping to keep close to a supply of blood, and started thinking about how to use his new life for something more.
He has been living there for eight years, trying to move out of the safety of inactivity, yet fearing discovery and a life of running.

Ability/Power:
Singularity- Can generate a rift in space time, creating a micro-black hole that lasts approximately 0.057286 of a second. Can be used in rapid succession, but never multiple uses at the same time.

Short Bio:
Born in central Illinois in 1947, Sebastian was one of many baby boomers following the end of World War Two. His father, an infantry man who served in the Pacific Theater during the war, had brought home a myirad of trophies and life lessons he wanted to pass on to his only son. The first lesson -nothing in life comes free. Sebastian had to do chores to earn anything he wanted, learning that nothing in life replaced hard work and commitment.
The second lesson -life is never as it seems. It was a fundamental understanding of man that there was more to the world around us than we see.
Facinated with the atom bomb and the radio space operas his childhood was filled with, Sebastian began his climb up the mountain of education to his degree in physics, later specializing the Quantum Theory.
After several years teachin at a handful of mid-league colleges and universities, he finally landed his dream job, becoming a professor at MIT. He spent his first eight years passionately feeding hungery minds, until in 1997, he was the victim of a drunk driving incident while coming home form an annual staff Christmas party.
Suffering several shattered cervical vertibrae, Sebastion became a quadrepeligic, with a low probibility of every regaining use of his arms or legs again.
Bound to a wheel chair and unable to completely care for himself, he sank into a deep depression. During his convalesence, he attempted suicide several times. Finally, after the direct intervention of his son Alex, he was pointed back to the path of purpose.
With a new powered wheelchair and a handle on life, Sebastian returned to his position at MIT, and began teaching again, a re-born man who had come to terms with his life, and it's changes.

Short Bio:
Born and raised on the streets of Queens, Allie managed to avoid the thick local accent and has a tendancy to anunciate, even when she starts babbling in techno-jargon. He childhood fascination with all things mechanical lead to many scoldings, spankings, and groundings as she disassembled almost every powertool and kitchen appliance she could get her hands on. At the age of 16, her father was particulalrly infuriated as she completely stripped down and cleaned every part of his 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray split-window coupe, needless to say it was a heated and heart tearing moment for her old man, but after a week of driving it, he realized that she had improved it's performance immeasurably.

Hoping to curb her need to tear everything worth more than $20 apart, her parents enrolled her in gymnastics, at which she excelled. Her coach hailed her as an Olympic quality natural, but her heart lay in machines. Though at her parents behest she continued her athletic activities, earning a full scholaship to any college of her choice.
Many apologies and arguments later, Allie enrolled at MIT and began dabbling in the sciences.
Saving money from pool wagers and doing odd-jobs as a fix-it-all mechanic, she eventually managed to nab enough cash to make a decent downpayment on a machine shop an old family friend was selling, fully equipped.
She got her degree in Engineering and returned to New York, and began her own custom parts business. The majority of her clients were memebers of a local motorcycle racing circuit, and soon word of mouth spread. She was able to take the jobs that interested her, make a decent profit, and waste her free time building all manner of doo-dads.

Life was simple, and she loved it... until she got an e-mail from an old friend from college. It was a simple Help Me. The IP traced it back to San Fransisco, and that was that.
She loaded up Dad's Corvette with some 'toys' and headed down the road, blazing down Route 66 to her friend's rescue.

Name: Nigel Smithe

Ability/Power:
Mental Power Mimicry - Can learn any ability that is mental in nature which does not affect his physical body, like telepathy, any form of kinesis, and the sort. Cannot learn regeneration, indestructibility, elemental mimicry, or any thing of that nature. Abilities are learned from profiling an individual, then spending some time with the person, if he meets them first it doesn't work, only after he has studied the person and has an understanding of how they think can he begin to access their power as his own. He is still unaware of this power.

NOTE: In Vampire AU, he knows of his ability and knows how to learn from others.

Learned Abilities
Nitrokinesis - Total control of Nitrogen atoms in the environment, can move them with his mind, increase energy output (causing heat increase), decrease energy output (causing it to cool and become liquid, or even solid). Using the air around him he can create barriers, walkways, left objects, and strike things.
All control is purely mental, and his skill is quite impressive. The power developed during his recouperation in the hospital after his wife's death, and he has practiced ever since, but never uses it unless he has no other choice, as he wants it to stay a secret. (Nigel thinks this is his actual ability, and does not know he can learn powers yet.

NOTE: In Vampire AU, he also posesses Emotion-Based Psycho-Resonace, Dead Sight (the ability to see and communicate with spirits), and Nitrokinesis.

Short Bio:
Raised in an American Dream household, Nigel grew up a normal kid, and was driven to become a detective. After graduating from the University of Washington with his Doctorate in Psychology, he managed to scure a spot in the FBI academy and worked his way to the Violent Crimes Division of the Seattle Branch Office.
Six years ago, a major case came to a head, when Matthew Jericho, a serial killer he was tracking up and down the west coast decided to get aggressive and killed Smithe's wife in his home.
Nigel pursued the man and gunned him down in the middle of the street, before getting struck himself by a passing car. Having died briefly during surgery, Nigel was accused of being a little off after his return to the Bureau, slowed by a year and a half of learning to walk again.
The local office was full of rumors of Smithe's instability, and questioned his being on active assignment, but no one could argue with his results. Though he seemed to talk to people that weren't there, and had become spaced out loner intermittently, the man was friendly, and managed to keep producing results.
Finally, after the Dawn of Judgement's attack on MIT, it was decided that Smithe's record spoke for itself and he was reassigned to New York, as a means of making a fresh start, and to provide assistnace to the agents already pouring over the case built on Mike Ownes and Alexander Sherman.

Short Bio:
A native of San Francisco, Kurtis started off as an accountant, making a decent living working for various start up businesses in the early 80s. After a few years he discovered his latent ability, and has been working on perfecting its use ever since.
In 1996, he was approached by a man he knows only as The Gatekeeper, and was given an ultimatum, Work as an agent of The Conclaive, or we will kill you and your family. Seeing no other options, as he was not strong enough alone to resist, Kurtis left, without saying a word.
Watching from a distance, he took pride in his daughter, April, as she grew into a genuinely caring person. And when she was abducted by 'the Gatekeeper' again, he bargained fro her release, at the cost of her memory of the events.

With his wife now dead, and his daughter ingrained in the conflict, Kurtis is questioning his loyalty, and the power of the man who holds sway over his life.

Short Bio:
The Orphaned nephew of Kieth McCorrmick, the Sergeant that served under Captain Douglas Sherman during World War Two, he was one of the first members of the Paladins that did not serve in the war.
After the passing of the last of the original memebers, he became defacto leader, and has continued their original mission, and ensured the blood bonds and loyalty of the Paladins has stood up to the trials and times that these out of date idealist are facing.
Having mixed feelings for Lazarus, after several instances of conflicting interests, he still gives the grizzled vet the shadow of a doubt, though he holds a grudge against him for some reason (to be revealed at a later time).
Being involved in the society his whole life, and taught from a young age, he has learned to control his ability with frightening precision.

During this time, Ax enters a trance-like state and is completely unaware of the world around him, as he 'lives' the moment. He may still move around or talk, but he is perceiving himself in that moment, and is succeptable to dangers in the immediate vicinity (IE a newly made hole in the floor, a hidden attacker, traffic if in the street).
