NBC will be recruiting testers for the #Heroes summer game! Look for sign-ups at 9th Wonders by early next week.7:51 PM Jun 12th
deepcalling is the twitter account for Tom Inkel, who's the digital writer for HEROES. You can find out more about him at heroeswiki: http://heroeswiki.com/Tom_Inkel
Anyway, if there's the chance to be a tester for a new HEROES game, then that means there'll probably also be a new HEROES game soon, too!
In NBC.com's upcoming summer game, Heroes: Survival, players create Heroes who will contact the players for advice and support. Players who aid their Heroes will see them grow and evolve, while abandoned Heroes will weaken and die.
The in-game story and accompanying iStory will tell the exciting backstory and feature official characters interacting with top player Heroes. As the game and story progress, Heroes will be able to band together to pool resources and secrets, but only the strong will survive!
Heroes: Survival is expected to launch in early July 2009, while major new features will launch throughout the summer. For news and announcements, watch this website and sign up for the Heroes Evolutions SMS/email lists.
And this is the intro to the game:
Quote:
Welcome to HEROES: Survival, where you are... THE ONLY HOPE!
You've seen Heroes like Claire, Matt, and Peter struggle to fit into the world, while figures like Rebel and Hana Gitelman guide from behind the scenes. Now it's your turn!
In the Heroes: Survival game, you will create a new Hero. Your new friend will face the daily struggles of life as a person with a secret ability. These challenges will take their toll, and a weakened Hero makes mistakes, even dies. Make contact with your Hero regularly to find out what is going on in their lives and how you can help.
Your Hero is not the only former fugitive struggling to fit back into society. In the accompanying Heroes iStory, "The Civilian," ex-government double agent Rachel Mills starts a new life as a small-town cop. But soon she begins receiving requests for assistance from all over the world. If your Hero thrives enough to attract unwanted attention, they may find Rachel Mills at the door to help!
Like your Hero, the game will evolve dramatically in the months ahead. Soon, successful Heroes may find that survival requires banding together. But not every faction will define "hero" in the same way. Keep your friends close!
How to Play! and What's New! info can be found in the HEROES: Survival forum at 9thWonders (along with info at the HEROES: Survival game site), where you can also get help and support and learn more about the upcoming factions.
And you'll have the chance to have your characters interact with Rachel Mills in the new iStory, which launched today, The Civilian, of which The Roommate is the first part.
Join up so folks can eventually band together in factions!
