When Sylar opened Claire's skull to get her ability, he noticed that she was different from the others and couldn't be killed. Later it was revealed that she had been given a "light". But Hiro Nakamura went back in time and kept the "light" from being passed on to Claire as an infant (when the Petrelli's dad stepped in and stole it). Would somebody please explain to me why Claire Bennet is still alive? Shouldn't she have died when Sylar took her ability (if she didn't have the "light" any more because of Hiro's interference)?
There are two different things, the light was a catalyst (that was for purify the formula),Also Hiro's mom, had the ability to cure, or maybe was part of that "light". Now, Claire born with an ability, which is being inmortal, and has nothing to do with the catalyst (light). Claire is inmortal, and will be inmortal with or without the light, Kaito was trying to hide the Catalyst from dangerous people such as Arthur. When Arthur took Hiro's ability, he took both; hiro's original power, ad the catalyst. (even when Arthur had already the time traveling power) He can take anybody's power doesnt matter if he had the same power.

Claire never had the light due to Hiro going back in time and taking it from his mother. This assumes that time is constant at all times. Regardless of what Hiro does it doesn't really change anything because it's already happened.
This goes back to my time-line theory about a giant rope being braided from tiny strands. There is a certain magical point we will call the Present. This point is almost illusory except the laws of the universe hinge on it. Here is where the past meets the future, and choices are made. Everything behind the Present is unchanging and permanent, while everything forward is dynamic and temporary.
All futures are temporary and based solely on the most likely present day outcome. As choices are made certain possibilities become less probable and the future shifts.
All past events happened only one way, and this cannot be changed. Hiro went back in time and spawned the Kensei legends. Hiro has always had the Catalyst, thus is likely why his ability is so powerful. Claire never had the Catalyst, and all thoughts that she did were incorrect.
Claire being a special special is likely Gabriel seeing her similarity to Adam and knowing she would be for all intents and purposes immortal unless something very specific happened. Remember it was the first time Gabriel had ever seen the brains of someone with a regenerative ability and could see that Claire would live forever and ever and ever.
She had the Catalyst and she knew that she had it. Hiro took it in the past but it didn't change a thing in his history 'cause Arthur took it from him.
