As a research center, The Institute conducts clinical trials of investigational new drugs and is a leader in outcome studies. Headed by Godfrey Pearlson, M.D., Olin Center researchers make use of sophisticated neuroimaging techniques and have attracted significant grant funding and competitive awards.

"Oh to be nothing"
Amanda slowly woke from her sleep, it was the 1st time in months she had slept, even thou it was sedative induced. She opened her eyes, the sun peering thru the only window in the small room where she notices someone sitting in a chair reading a book.
She turns her head to the person "W h" she starts to cough and catches the attention of the attendant who places her novel on the chair and comes to the girls side "Your awake, how do you feel?"
Amanda closes her eyes for a moment and tries to speak again "Ok I guess" her throat hurt and she slowly raises her hand to it, then notices the IV. "What's the IV for" her voice clearly scratchy.
"You were quite dehydrated and gave the doctors a difficult time when you came in two weeks ago" the attendant told her as she check the equipment.
Amanda sat up and almost at a yell "TWO WEEKS!!!" yelling that only caused a violent coughing spree.
The coughing caught the attention of another nurse passing by, she came into the room "Your awake, good, I'll let the doctor know" and with that she turned on her heels and left the room.
Once the coughing fading Amanda sat up in bed tring hard to remember what happend.
(More to come)

"Oh to be nothing"
Addie had been sitting in the room for about an hour. She was so bored that she began counting the ceiling tiles. It really helped her calm down. Addie was a mess and she would be the first person to deny that. Apparently she had a problem, but all she was doing was being honest. Addie was able to cause illusions that peoples worst fears were coming true. People didnt believe her, so she got sent here. She had to figure out a way to get out of her because she couldnt be here anymore. She didnt want to. Addie walked over to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked. She took a safety pin off of her sleeve and began attempting to pick the lock.
As she sat in the bed thinking as flashes of some past events flickered before her eyes.
The ambulance, the police then nothing until now. She whispered under her breath 'what the . . ."
Amanda had an idea of what happened and she knew then she didn't want these people finding out the real reason.
Before then attendant could react, Amanda had ran out of the room, the IV ripping from her wrist as blood trailed as she ran to the door only to see someone already at the door.

Re: Trouble in Mind (AU)
Name: McBrayer, Zephyr
Diagnosis: Neurosis bordering on Psychosis; bi-polar disorder.
Description: Patient exhibits odd behaviors associated with psychosis ranging from irrational thoughts pertaining to dillusions as well as animalistic behavior however appears capable of coherent thoughts. Wide-ranging symptoms and inconsistent behavior.
Warnings: Do Not Enter without permission or accompaniment of doctor; patient can be extremely violent; restrain if necessary.
Sadly, this was the sign hanging on a clear clipboard upon a heavy metal door with one small window. The room was located at the end of a hallway at the back of the building where the most severe cases were kept away from those staying in the institution for easily solvable cases. The lights flickered in the hallway as a man rushed from the heavy wooden door calling out something to the staff. He wore a white labcoat which was stained scarlet with blood pouring from a gash on his jaw.
People rushed to his side, making sure the door was locked. Inside shouts of agony and terror could be heard coming from the deep voice of a male. He was screaming, growling, roaring with rage before bangs could be heard... then more shouts from different voices. Three more men appeared on the other side of the door bearing cuts and scrapes, but none as bad as man number one.
Inside the room, lived a man named Zephyr Mcbrayer. He was a deeply misunderstood person who only needed help with a gift that was taking him over. He could mimic animal behaviors... but he could not control it at all.
"Please! No! You don't understand!" He cried as the last of the men left the room where he was now strapped to a table with thick leather bands.
He threw himself against the ties, trying to thrash his way out, when another wave of terrors, as the were called, overtook him. He screamed, showing off his blood-stained teeth. The screams echoed in the halls for the other patients to hear.
He was tall and muscular with blonde hair buzzed short by the doctors. It had only gotten in the way when he was first brought there, fresh out of the woods. His facial hair was growing longer, now stained with dried blood, only some of which was his own.
"HELP ME!" He cried finally... as soon as the screaming stopped, he fell flat against the bed, head rolling to the side.

"Music was invented because everyone needs something to run to, even when they think no one is listening."
Trent sighed as he sat in his chair. He glanced at the man who was silently observing him. He didn't understand what his parents expected to get out of this psychiatric evaluation.
"Are we almost finished?"
The man just sat there and didn't do anything except scribble a few things on his notepad.
Trent sighed and slouched a little more in his chair.
Addie had already picked the lock when she found a girl in front of her door. This girl had an IV mark dripping blood from her. Addie didnt know what to do. "Uhh.." Addie was afraid this girl would ruin her chances of excaping. Addie passed her and went on her way to get out of this joint, as she didnt she past many rooms. When Addie saw a nurse coming, she knew the nurse hadnt seen her yet, but she took no chance and went into a room. She closed the door and turned around, and someone was there.
So then I was like "Avada Kedavra!" and he was like *dead*

Re: Trouble in Mind (AU)
Zephyr was lying still with his eyes closed, breathing fast as he strained his ears to hear what was happening outside. Everyone had fled from the room to assess the man he had injured. They did not have enough people to sedate him, so they left him strapped to the bed with strong leather bands. He glanced up when someone entered.
"I didn't mean it! I swear! I'm not insane!" He began in a shout before raising his eyebrows. "Uh... who're you?" He added, with a growl in his voice.

Amanda saw the girl at the look at her and go thru the door, Amanda held the door open and just as she was going to go thru a nurse walked by and she ran to the nearest room opened the door and closed it.
Amanda thought she would be able to hide in the room but when she turned around she saw a guy sitting in a chair with a clipboard and a kid slouching in a chair, both of them now looking at her.
'sh*t' she whispered under her breath.

Addie looked at the guy. "Someone who clearly isnt as messed up as you.." She told him looking him up and down. "Im Addie, and Im not crazy, and I dont wanna be here!!! I have to get out." She said as she walked over to the window which was sealed with bars. "Wanna help me excape?" She asked him as she felt a bad headache coming on.
