My Ideas For Heroes/ Tim Kring, I'm calling you out.
An ambitious title don't you think so?
WARNING: DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE WHOLE SHOW!
Yes, this is a Heroes fan forum and some of my opinions on the show might be seen as "wrong and terrible" by some, but I will say this. I love Heroes, and it's possibly the best Sci-Fi show going. It was fresh, original and the acting was fantastic. So, when Season 1 ended I was ambitious as too what Season 2 would bring us.
Unfortunately due to the writers strike the second season was mostly filler, and totally unneeded, even though it is considered canon (more on that later). because of the writers strike it had a poor ending, introduced some characters that weren't all great, although David Anders and Kristen Bell were amazing; and the returning cast did a great job aswell the rest in my opinion weren't exactly the best, some (like that idiot Wes) were HORRIBLE! But, like I said, most of the faults in the second season were do in part to the writers strike. So, I was ambitious that the third season would return to form and the writers would give us something spectacular.O
Now, the first episodes of Heroes third season had me drawn in like I was in the first season.... but after all that, it fell to shambles and though i still faithfully watched every episode I was infurious with the plotholes that were so damn thick, Alan Moore cloud see them through a hole in a locked room with no lights. For starters, it's never explained what happened to that Scottish girl, i mean technically, would she be stuck in a future that doesn't exist anymore or return change to a different future or what. IT'S NOT EXPLAINED! Oh and in an effort to try to distance it's self from the second season, every character introduced in the second season is either written out of the show, or dies. I mean, it got rid of Maya, who is a horrible character from the start but surely you killed have KILLED HER! Instead of having her powers taking away. That's just stupid. Her power was idiotic aswell... what, she casts death on people? Pffffft, smart in theory, but the payoff doesn't work. Also individual character plots suchs as "Claire can't die", "Sylar and Peter are brothers", etc. They are tired and annoying. Also, Let's not forget Daphne.... HERS IS THE MOST CLICHED! I mean, I developed some empathy toward the character as the show went on, but her being a damn cripple before the whole "getting super speed" happened. Who came up with this? It's not clever or original. It's just lazy. The ending to the season was rather satisfying, but Nathan has a butthole relapse and starts making deals with Barack Obama. Oh, and I love the foreshadowing they put in on characters returning, and that Hiro will get his powers back (which isn't bad because he's awesome). But that's enough of the bitching out of me. I said I had ideas for Heroes to get things back in order.
Tim Kring once called his own fans "saps" for criticizing him for season 2's poor outcome. Now i don't blame him for season 2, I blame him for season 3. Now Tim should learn to take criticism, because HE NEEDS IT! As a fan, I care for the show and the direction it's going into so as a fan we need to pull him aside and and tell him what he is doing. But I'd like to give him advice in the future so he has an idea of what to do. He can't be a baby and think his show is perfect, he has to make it much more consistent and fresh. But he could be less involved with the show than I think, and the writers need to overhaul it or be fired. But I'm calling Tim Kring out for a reason because i feel i can do a better job at revamping Heroes then his current staff and Tim himself.
For starters, if any of you are familiar at all with the Mobile Suit Gundam series you'll know that the creator of Gundam upset with Mobile Suit Gundam Double Zeta, decided to remake the prequel Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta into a series of movies and called it canon. That's what I suggest Tim do aswell. remake the second season into a series of movies and let the fans decide what they like better. Basically he could effectively undo the 3rd season all together if he makes enough changes to the original product. Plus, since it would be movies they could trim down the filler and make it absolutely better. I am also sure that he'd be given a wider budget for doing movies as opposed to shows. I'm sure they'd be rather long though, but it would be worth it if it's alot better. That's one idea I suggest they do.
Another idea is stop taking most of the inspiration from X-Men. It's a great comic series I understand, but there is a line where it stops being fun. there are many comics to take ideas from without being a plagiarist. the end of the 3rd season solidified the damn X-Men inspirations to a T, and now Nathan wants to persecute them and give them their own place away from people without powers? OH COME ON!!! look, the best villians ever don't have piowers, they're just people who crave power and as archaic as that is, it works. the Joker is a bit of an exception, although he doesn't have powers he is pure evil and just wants to have fun, toy with the hero, he doesn't care about money or power he only wants to cause havoc. Where is a villain like that?A character in the show without powers is needed. Another thing, Hiro's main inspiration comes from Jojo's bizarre adventure in terms of his ability. But you'd think there would be more references to this in the show, and you'd think a person from Japan would naturally talk about anime? Nope. instead they leave it out of the show for really no reason. Where is the logic? reference it more in the show for a change I see no reason whuy not to unless there is a fear attached to that. I mean, Hiro references Dio's "Mudamudamudamudamuda", but never is a name from the manga it's self is mentioned it's usually Superman, Spierman, Batman, or X-Men. No Watchmen, Hellboy, Spawn or any other famous comic; just the big 4. C'mon it's not hard. I mean, the writers may be infringing on copyright if they include it (which I doubt since its a name) but yeah no other reason.
Now, I've said this a number of times, why isn't anyone going after the Haitian? Sure, he blocks abilities from working, but i don't think he's impervious to bullets or any normal weapon. Sure, people with powers need limits but no one is thinking of going after him? Where is the logic? It could be an effective plot device, it could make for an interesting tale but nope. no one goes after the Haitian. I pretty sure any bad guy would try something. Plus, it could also be funny in the process.
Now that's some of the ideas I have for the show itself, and I hope i don't get alot of grief from fellow fans here... but I am sure most of you feel the same way aswell. I am open to more ideas aswell, and any opinions because I like any feedback whatsoever. If people are bitter at some of the things i said, just accept it and try not to flame me or be a complete idiot, you'll only make my arguments much more valid. I only hope that this somehow reaches someone who is working for the Heroes staff, even though that will likely not happen. i leave this open to the fans.
That is all.
