I have only recently become a fan of Heroes. I knew I wanted to check the show out, so I borrowed my friend's DVDs and caught up to where we are now in 1 week's time. I love it, I'm hooked! Before Heroes, the only other show that has ever interested me like this was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which shares many creative characteristics with Heroes, like its continually building storyline and character development and its constant twists in the plot that keep us on edge every week. You could say that Heroes owes a lot of its success to Buffy (although you probably wouldn't say that unless you were a fan of that show

)
I have a tendency to notice every detail when watching a tv show, and I have noticed a couple of instances in Heroes where it appears to be heralding back to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The first was in season 2, when the morally ambiguous father figure Noah Bennet mentioned that his first car was a 1952 Citroen. Similarly, the morally ambiguous father figure on Buffy, Giles, drove the same car, although his was a 1963 model. This really was just amusing to me and is easily passed off as a coincidence. The second instance is a little more uncanny: In season 3, episode 3 of Heroes (One of Us, One of Them), Hiro and Ando track down Daphne in Germany at a theater that is showing multiple Buster Keaton films. In season 3, episode 3 of Buffy (Faith, Hope, and Trick), we meet a character named Scott Hope who asks Buffy out on a date...to a Buster Keaton film festival. Now this could just be a very weird coincidence, or it could be that Tim Kring, or the episode's writer Joe Pokaski, is a fan of Buffy himself and has used these obscure references to give homage to the show and to delight obsessive, overobservant fans like me.
So my question is whether anyone else has noticed occurrences like these, and if anyone has an idea if these are more than mere coincidences. And if these aren't simply coincidences, than to all you Buffy fans I say keep an eye out, because there are bound to be more references like these.
