Save Heroes....Save the World

I was reading the article in Entertainment Weekly titled Fallen Heroes (dated Oct. 31, 2008) which has offered tips on ways to "fix" the show.
IMO the show needs areas fixed, but this article has stated the show is leading into a "black hole".
It actually left me livid.

It also gives a couple of spoilers for those who get into that.

EW is not the best place to go for good journalism. They're just one step below TV entertainment "journalism", i.e. don't take them too seriously.

There are some problems with the show, but nothing too bad. I don't see any gaping holes or anything. Although it does worry me that ratings haven't been particularly strong.

There are always problems with every show; it is the nature of the beast.

The one thing that made Babylon 5 so good, compared to other shows, is that J. M. Straczynski had the entire plot and much of the backstory plotted before they began filming the first show. Since he already knew where it was going he avoided writing himself into various plot holes.

This seems to be the case with Heroes--insufficient backstory and self-consistent plot laid out before the show airs. *shrug* It isn't too late to make sure the show doesn't write itself into a corner....but if they don't quit introducing new characters it will degenerate into "what super do we discover this week?" or "who dies this week?". If they introduce too many metahumans, then the idea of "secret supers" will not be sustainable--someone will go public in some big way that cannot be avoided or ignored.

That's actually good to hear, Sam. I only recently began reading this mag since I get a free subscription. My question for you is
How should I take the spoilers? True or false? They are pretty believable.

Which spoilers are you referring to? There are a lot out there...
