Is anyone else kinda ticked about how they just killed him in the first five minutes of the show? I understand that Papa Petrelli used Adam to gain his ability by taking it completely away from him. I also understand that because Adam was over 400 years old when his ability was removed it caused him to age the way he should have which turned him into a pile of dust. But to me his death was meaningless. He was there just so he could make Papa Petrelli better. I wanted him to be redeemeed. And I had really wanted him and Claire to meet so they could talk about their abilities. Dammit.
BTW, I was kinda disappointed that Papa didn't have an original power. There are now 3 characters who have the same ability. Even though all these things irked me I still enjoyed the heck out of the episode and I can't wait til next week!
I'm glad that Arthur has mimicry. It makes him a helluva lot tougher to take down. It also makes sense (father and both sons have similar, but not completely the same, powers).
But isn't it odd that Nathan wouldn't have natural abilities when both his other sons did??? I know - genetics - but I don't think the writers are that smart.
Having been around for 400 years, I had expected to see him put up a good fight. After all he's seen and been through, it should never have been that simple. Somewhere inside I'd always thought it would be something to do with Hiro that would bring him down, as they have the most history together. Not simply walk coolly into a room and then, BAM! Dead. Granted Arthur stealing his power was pretty awesome in itself, I expected it to be more epic. More of a fight put up. Especially since I could swear I remember a point at the end of S2 when they referred to him not being afraid of death, as he's lived for centuries. If that was the case, Knox shouldn't have been able to keep him at bay well enough - risk of losing powers or not. At this point, what does he have left to fear? And it most definitely shouldn't have been within the first 5 minutes of the episode. That was a huge let down. Too quick and too easy.

I agree. Adam was a great character. David Anders, the guy who played Adam, is an awesome actor! They should've done more with it. Like you said, Adam should've fought instead of gotten scared. Oh well, that's the writers doing.
