Default Daphne vs Hiro: Physics Issues

Okay, just HOW FAST is Daphne anyway? If Hiro is stopping time, then how come Daphne can still move around? Sure, her power is negated, but to be able to move AT ALL, she would have to be fast enough to bypass time itself!

By the way, I'm going to let the whole sonicboom isssue slide for now.

Cool Re: Daphne vs Hiro: Physics Issues

Isn't it obvious?

Daphne's power really isn't "super speed". Rather, her power is similar to Hiro's in that she is altering the flow of time...but only for herself. When she starts to move, she alters her subjective temporal rate so that she appears to us to be moving very quickly. This explains why Hiro only slows her down rather than stopping her--their manipulation of the subjective rate of time cancels out and puts them on a relatively equal rate. This also explains the lack of sonic booms from her running--she really isn't moving through the air fast enough to cause a boom; we only perceive her to be moving that quickly.

So teckneckly Hiro could move as fast as her as well? Well he could do the speed walk thingy instead of teleporting XD

If he could, what would be the point? Teleporting would be a lot faster and wouldn't take as much effort physically.

Theoretically, yes--Hiro should be able to alter his subjective time rate and move at super speed. However, the only manifestations he has evidenced have been stopping time completely--which really means just that he stops himself from moving in the fourth dimension temporarily--as well as teleportation and actual time travel.

Because it would look 10X cooler than teleporting :P

Practicality and efficiency are more important than appearances.

Hopefully if he were to do the super speed thing he wouldn't have to make that ridiculous face. Either that, or he'd be running around with the face. Wow, that mental image is hilarious.
