Default The RPG in Poetry

A modified version of the RPG in Lyrics thread. Basically find (or write) a poem that relates to the RPG.

An excerpt from "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred Tennyson

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Tribute to the heroes from the Philly HQ days. Rest in peace our dead, and honor the survivors.

Default Re: The RPG in Poetry

Got bored and went a looking around for random things. Found a nice little poem that spoke to me. I see Riley's evolution from naive girl to dangerous woman.

We grow accustomed to the Dark by Emily Dickinson

We grow accustomed to the Dark --
When light is put away --
As when the Neighbor holds the Lamp
To witness her Goodbye --

A Moment -- We uncertain step
For newness of the night --
Then -- fit our Vision to the Dark --
And meet the Road -- erect --

And so of larger -- Darkness --
Those Evenings of the Brain --
When not a Moon disclose a sign --
Or Star -- come out -- within --

The Bravest -- grope a little --
And sometimes hit a Tree
Directly in the Forehead --
But as they learn to see --

Either the Darkness alters --
Or something in the sight
Adjusts itself to Midnight --
And Life steps almost straight.
