Just for the fun of it, which ones do you enjoy? The classics like Monopoly or Eurogames like Settlers of Catan? Or even card games - betting your heart out in poker or the simple fun of Go Fish?

I love Clue/Cluedo. I always demand to Plum. No idea why.

I've heard of Apples to Apples. What is it exactly? Same with Skip-Bo.

Personally, I love Carcassonne.

Skip-Bo is a card game. It's a little difficult to explain without doing it. But the premise is you want to be the first one to get rid of your deck.

Apples to Apples on the other hand is a little easier to explain and it's wicked fun! You can even make the game yourself instead of buying it.

Okay so with Apples to Apples. A player (we'll call him player 1) draws an adjective card. For example, let's say player 1 draws "Awesome". Now all the other players who have up to seven subject cards in their hand must put down one card they think player one will think can best be described as awesome.

So the follow cards get put down:

Cherries
The Holocaust
Batman
Mentos

Now player one must pick which card is best described as awesome. Player 1 picks "Batman" and the player who put down the Batman card takes the adjective card "awesome" and puts it down beside them. The first player to have seven adjective cards wins!

It's a lot of fun 'cause it's all subjective and if you play to each players tastes then you can win a little easier.

I feel like a nerd now. Risk anyone? Monopoly's pretty sweet too; the game that promotes cruelty and cold-hearted business. I've seen little kids turn into robber barons playing Monopoly, it's hilarious.

Risk is fun to play late at nights with your friends after their parents have come in and told you to go to sleep 17times!

Lol, Risk is really fun to play with your friends and their parents. And proceed to crush them. Nothing says inadequacy like being beaten in a game of strategy (and a bit of luck) by someone over 20 years your minor.
Actually, that works with Monopoly, too. I used to play those two when I was younger with a friend and his parents on rainy days. He would stab his own parents right in the back, such a ruthless kid. Especially considering he was normally very mild-mannered.

I like Risk and Monopoly too. Except for the fact that they take a fishin' lifetime to complete.

Ah well, they are fun games.
