Unhappy The sites down time
Is it just me or is the site going through increasingly frequent periods where its difficult to access or just down altogether? I was just wondering what was going on. Should we be worried?

Ugh. YES. It happens a lot to me too. And my connection here at school is virtually flawless so I know it has nothing to do with that. . .

sometimes when updates are done and when a lot of people are logged in posting will somtimes cause those problems. sorry for the inconvience.

Let's not get too dramatic. It only happens on Mondays and Tuesdays, the site's highest traffic days (after the episodes air). Tuesdays, in particular, has to deal with twice the traffic of Mondays, so it tends to go down more often. I've already upgraded multiple times to new servers in an attempt to handle the high traffic, but right now I just can't afford a better server, so you guys will just have to deal with it.

The truth is, if I shut down the forum, I would save a ton of money on server costs. What do you think? Should I shut down the forum?

More than I can afford, alas. I'm already paying 3-figures a month to keep the site up now; if I upgrade again, it'll be to a 4-figures a month server, and that is waaaaaaaaaaay out of my range right now. Fortunately, I'm hosted by a great bunch of guys, and they do all they can to balance the load on the servers, even upgrading me a couple of times at a discount.

In any case, that's why the site sometimes go down on busy days. I hope this week's lesson in website management has been helpful to everyone.
