Suddenly I see
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see
Why the hell it means so much to me
Riley stood in front of the huge building, just outside the entrance. It was quite intimidating to be standing at the gates of Yale University. Especially after spending the past months in Chicago, wasting her life away as...well, we won't get into that now. That part of her life was over and it was time to start fresh. She was lucky to be accepted into Yale even if she had good grades, and SAT scores, she had taken a year off from school. Only one thing worried her, which she kept at the back of her mind...what if the police caught up with her?Of course she was a changed person, but how would they know that? Riley knew that for sure she would be locked up, thank god she had always used 'Rose' and not her. Everyday she remembered all the mistakes she had made, and she wished she could take it all back, but that was not possible. When these thoughts did bother her, as they were now, she slowly pulled a folded piece of paper form her pocket that read: I believe in you
It was from Chris, and she still had the ring that had given to her. She had looped a silver chain through it to form a necklace of sorts. Placing the papaer back into the pocket of her khaki jacket she zipped it shut. Only two things had not changed since Chicago, her tattoo and her liking for converse sneakers. Besides that her appearance had shifted drastically. She had dyed her hair back to its medium brown color and cut the long bangs that used to hang in her eyes. Her make up was lighter, no more dark eye liner. She liked it better as well, she felt so much more content with herself these days.
Slignign her knapsack over one shoulder she began to walk forward and down the cement walkway lined with trees on each side. This was where the new chapter of her life would begin....

Layden's alarm started to go off loudly. He reached over searching for it, his hand hitting empty air. He cracked open and eye and fumbled around before hitting the snooze button. He closed his eyes and rolled around for a minute. I better get up I suppose. With that he pulled back his sheets and climbed out of bed.
After getting dressed quickly he made his way to the dorm rooms small kitchen and put on some poptarts. Hey Layden man, what are you doing here. His roommate Kevin asked. Eating. Layden was only half awake at this point, his brain couldn't yet handle complex thoughts.
Didn't you have an exam in like, 15 minutes. Kevin laughed at that. Layden was always the guy who missed half his classes, the difference was he pulled near perfect marks in spite of this. S***! Layden grabbed a poptart as it jumped from the toaster, picked up his bag and headed out the door running down the hall. 10 minutes latter he was sitting in class panting, regretting all 3 smokes he'd had when he was 18.
This is gonna be a long day. He said as he pulled out a pen.

Kennet Johannesen
Yale University Psychology Class
Kennet looked up from the desk when Layden came in panting. He was used to Layden's lateness, he usually arrived right before the regular professor himself. Kennet shook his head with a sigh and stood up, the class was buzzing with small conversation as they waited for the usual Professor to enter.
"Morning. As soon as Professor Matthews gets in we'll begin." He said in a fairly loud voice, causing conversations to cease. He walked back to the desk and sat down just as the door opened and an older man entered.

Jeremy had always been used to the privalged life, concidering everything had always been giving to him. Jeremy had things pretty easy his whole life. He was the only child, a wealthy lawyer and a fashion designer. He had everything he could ever dream of. Jeremy had just started his second year at Yale University. He was a Business Law major.
Jeremy was in his dorm room and he had just woken up. His parents didnt want him distracted this year, so they paid for his own privite suit in the student dorms. He looked over at the clock and sighed when he realized he had about 45 minutes to get to the other side of campus for his English class. He looked over at the random girl who was laying in bed next to him. He shook his head and got up. She would be gone when he got back, and hopefully he wouldnt see her again.
He went into his closet and chose a pair of jeans, and a brown polo sweater. He brushed his blonde hair out of his face and looked at himself in the mirrior. He smiled satisfied with his appearance and he grabbed his bag which contained his books for his class and his laptop. He grabbed his cell phone off the desk and went out the door. He left the dorm complex and was consumed by the chilly weather as he walked to class, but it really didnt bother him. He didnt mind the cold.
A crisp fall breeze swept through the area as she walked along slowly. It did not bother her thought, she was used to the Connecticut weather. She needed to find her dorm room, her first class was not until tomorrow. Zipping up her jacket she found a sign with arrows pointing towards the dorms, she headed in that direction and soon enough a brick building with ivy sprawling over the walls appeared. Now just to find her room number....
Layden watched the clock tick slowly to 12. The exam had finished a little awhile ago and he was itching to get out. Professor Mathews was talking about meditation now as a stress relief and grounding technique. Layden was only half paying attention. He'd started to develop a slight headache and he had the strangest feeling in the back of his mind, he couldn't quite place it.
Ok class, and please give these meditation techniques a try. They can really be a big help to your stress levels. Ok off you go.
The class started filing out, Layden jumped over the front 2 desks and headed out the door .

Why don't we all take a step back before I blow you up?
Jeremy was just walking, taking his time getting to his first class of the day. He was pretty aware of his surroundings. He noticed various people walking to and from. One perticular girl caught his eye. She looked as though she was new. She just had that whole new girl vibe to her. He saw her outside the first years dorms. He was impressed by how attractive she looked. He smiled to himself. Just another girl to get to fall for me. He thought as he walked towards her.
"Do you need help or anything?" He asked her as he walked up to her. He had a small grin on his face. "You look a little lost." He told her.
Riley heard a voice along with a pair of footsteps, looking over she saw a young man headed towards her. He had hair that fell just above his striking blue eyes. He was handsome, but she was not really interested in any guys at the moment. Too much drama had occurred so recently...So she pushed that thought away and just offered him a friendly smile. "Yes actually, I'm looking for dorm room 32A...could you point me in the right direction?"
It was strange how easy it was to just be automatically kind to a person when she met them. Over the months she had gotten used to the icy apppearance she had given herself, but she wanted to be different now and dsicovered it may not be that difficult a goal to reach.
Jeremy thought about it for a second, of course he knew where 32 A was, one of his ex girlfriends lived in that dorm which would make her this new girls roomate.
Jeremy thought that would be interesting and kind of fun.
"Okay you go in the building, and its on the first floor, as soon as you walk in go to the right, and its should be down that hallway somewhere." He told her.
"Just watch out for the girl who lives there, shes not going to be the easiest person to live with." Jeremy told her. Infact it would probably be a nightmare, his ex was crazy, and really snobby, and annoying too. Jeremy had a feeling she could handle herself before. She looked like she could.
"I'm Jeremy by the way." He told her. "It was nice meeting you, good luck getting settled and everything. Maybe we'll meet again." He said as he got ready to walk away to his class.
"Thank you so much...you really think she's that bad?"
Riley really did not want any trouble right now, but she figured if she was quiet and neat the girl could not say much. "I'm Riley"
She replied, placing the papaer with her room number back into her pocket, then began turn towards the hall he directed her to. "See you around"
He seemed like a nice guy, Riley hoped everyone at Yale would be so friendly to her. That sure would make starting her life from scratch less intimidating.
