Default Writers Strike May Cut Heroes Season 2 Short

By now you’ve heard or at least become aware of the impending Hollywood writers strike, which if it happens, will mean a lot of trouble for a lot of shows, Heroes included. The strike has already claimed its first victim — the Heroes spin-off, Origins, has been axed by NBC as a result. Now, TV [...]

It's not official yet, but they're just planning on "just in case". It's actually kind of smart of them to do it like this.

So wait a second, lemme make sure I got this straight....

In Season One, they ended "Volume One: Genesis" with the kirby plaza sequence, and began "Volume Two: Generations" with the final scenes of the finale (hiro in 1671, which later were repeated in the premiere)

So are they saying (whether or not the season ends with 2.11 "Powerless") that Volume Two was originally intended to end before the winter break? That would split the season (originally) into two different Storylines/Volumes.

Perhaps this is why the purported "spoilers" that seem oh so legit, were leaked at this point. I originally assumed that the revealed spoilers would ruin the ending of the entire season, instead it would simply reveal the events of the next few episodes and the end of this volume. Volume Three would begin after the break.

Makes me feel better about the fact that I caved on those spoilers, because it didn't (potentially) ruin the entire season for me.

Should this BS strike occur, it would be true that the spoilers (if true) will explain the entire end of "Volume Two: Generations," and "Volume Three: ?" would now begin next september with the start of Season Three. (in a perfect world, should the strike occur, "HEROES" would finish out its original version of season 2 over the summer)

but here's to hoping that, should the strike occur, the original endings/unseen episodes will make it to the HEROES:SEASON TWO DVD.

It's hard to reveal spoilers for episodes that haven't even been written yet, much less shot, Darwin.

And yes, to answer your question, Episode 11 marks the end of Volume 2 as originally planned. There just won't be a Volume 3 if the strike drags on (it seems a given that it's going to happen at this point).

yeah thats been the plan the entire time. They said that Volume 2 was going to end Mid-Season 2. So Volume 3 would have already started by the time Season 2 ends.

And BTW, from what i read this morning, the strike is set to proceed as of last night. They were planning on meeting today to begin determine when they start picketting.

It would royally suck if this season was only 11 episodes, but I at least feel good in the fact that if worst does indeed come to worst, they at least have a plan insured that will give actual closure to the storylines we currently have going and not leave us hanging, which is a luxury that most shows will not have.

Yeah, the plan all along seems to be to make Volume 2 a storyline that would conclude, and lead off into Volume 3, similar to the bridge between Volume 1 and 2.
