Is Heroes Suffering from a Sophomore Slump? You Decide.
The big bad negative buzz around the TV industry lately is that Heroes is suffering through a sophomore slump, something that most shows, including Lost, among many, many others, go through in the second season of a break-through first year. That, it seems, is happening to Heroes. Or at least, that’s what the L.A. Times [...]

((Realize this is a repost of my "sound off" fromt he original article. Many of the things listed in here I learned here. So do not take anything too offensively.))
The people who are saying that Heroes is in a slump are obviously not fans of character depth. They want lightning bolts flying from arses, eye beams, flight and death….How drull. In my opinion, the set up for this season is awesome and with last week’s Fight or Flight Episode things stepped up a notch. Tonight things will start to come to a head as we have not seen in this season. And though they have complained about the setup, tonight’s episode is going to be insane, BECAUSE of the setup.
And to those saying that there are too many characters, you are aware Kring said 3 MAIN characters would die off this season right? If not search around and see for yourself. 3 deaths. Tonight we get to see the other paintings and they said something about a tombstone and two deaths in the paintings.
The storylines have gained momentum and tonight things derail. What happens when Nikki/Jessica sees who they have in custody, with plans to take her power, realizing Micah is unattended I fear for the idiot who tries to harm “St Joan” (to avoid a spoiler unless you know who I am talking about. Peter and Caitlin suffered the death of her brother and now are moving, instead of being so static. Their base too is set. Matt and Nathan have a murder to stop. Mohinder a huge moral conflict compounded by handing Molly to them. What will they do if her refuses to play ball etc….And we have been promised something was planned for the Twins Maya and Alejandro that would make us feel invested in them. I trust in the writing team and in Kring’s direction of them to not let me down on this one.
If Hiro Nakamura is boring you maybe you should watch the Kensei legends on the Yamagato Fellowship site. These legends give you some idea of what Hiro and Kensei have been doing and astute watchers will notice that soon Hiro as The Dragon of Kensei’s legend will try and take his love, and Kensei will “rip out his own heart” to end it…A dissolving of a friendship? A fight? there is more intrigue to this story that others give it credit for. The cross-media information can be both helpful and fun. In case you did not know by now this series crosses medias. There is even a PrimaTechPaper website that you can get passwords logins for and “hack” Company files to find out more about people.
Far from a sophomore slump Heroes like a great novel has set the stage for something great this season, be patient. The only story that is lagging behind is Claire. And I know it has something to do with something we should have noticed. Either that or once again the Cheerleader is the key. (though I am partial to the Theories suggesting another girl is in that painting much like it was Jackie with her head cut off).
Re: Is Heroes Suffering from a Sophomore Slump? You Decide.
The "3 main characters will die" line can't be taken seriously. He promised the same thing last year and ended up killing off two insignificant characters -- Eden and Simone. The MAIN characters, like Peter, Nathan, etc, will never be killed off. After Tim Kring failed to kill off Nathan last year, by allowing him to sacrifice himself for the greater good, and instead kept him alive because he didn't want to disappoint fans, I'm pretty sure he doesn't quite have the nerve to kill of three MAIN characters this year as well.
By "3 main" I'm guessing he's already counted Kaito as one, Angela as another, and probably Alejandro as another.

LOL, I won't miss her
Maybe Debbie is Jackie...A wolf in a sheeps coat!
I don't think the show is suffering, didn't SPIKE nominate them as Best TV Show On Air and they won?! I think I saw that in STAR magazine which in the same magazine it read
"Hayden ready to move on in!" which they were talking about her moving in with Milo (Peter just in case some people don't know) So I don't know if it is true...they had a pic of the winning Heroes show...
(I'll use there HEROES names)
Peter holding the award, Maya behind him, Elle clapping to the side, Hayden on the other side looking like she was praying and screaming, and then Sylar holding his hands up like he won a marathon! It was a pretty funny picture...
So If they won that means its a good show. Cause seriously who really watches Chuck and enjoys it? I like Journeyman and Pushing Daisies. Those are good shows, but Chuck and Caveman? Heroes is one of the best shows!
