Hi! I'm Jadeserai, and I'm a Heroes Addict. You can call me Jade though, I'm fine with that.
*pauses for the obligatory "Hi Jade"s from the other addicts*
Thank you for welcoming me to Hero-anon, although I imagine I'll not be overcoming my addiction anytime soon.
I guess if I had to pinpoint where my current obsession started, I'd have to say in childhood and with Marvel comics, particularly the X-men. To a young girl stuck in Northern Nevada after growing up a surfer in San Diego, seeing other "fish out of water" type folks appealed to me.
I moved back to San Diego in 2000 and started regularly attending ComiCon. I got a glimpse of this one show at a forum and basically wrote it off as being an X-men rip off and deciding it couldn't possibly be any good.
Then, later on in Season 1 I caught a marathon showing, about 4 episodes from the finale. It was then that I realized how wrong I was and I quickly became absorbed. There were repeat airings the entire weekend and not only did I get addicted (and caught up) my roommates did too.
We debated and argued over the off-season as we breathlessly awaited Season 2, which has been a suprise but not wholly disappointing. The conspiracies abound among us and after discovering this site I'm fully engaged once more into the program.
I've seen the RPG, debated making a character, but no clue as to how to get started or even where to go for it. Currently I'm more into the theory-crafting, though, so that's where almost all of my posts have been.
I'm looking forward to meeting all of y'all!
PS Having lived in both San Diego and Northern Nevada, I am legally entitled to use both Dude and Y'all in sentences. You have been warned.
