I just wanted to make sure the facts are realised,as I come from Cork in Ireland and it's annoying to see yet another tv show, but this time a seriouse one show the country like that.
1.Those accents are ridiculouse,No one sounds like that.
2.We dont have yellow redge cars.
3.Celtic is way over hyped in the show.
4.Cars and buildings arent as sh*t as they are portrayed in that.
5.This one I just wanted to say anyway, but you know the security guys, who were ment to be transporting the money but Peter and gang attacked them, well in RL they would have had riot helmets, and stab vest and depending on who they were collecting i.e if it were the bank a military escort.
Sigh,Why not shoot on location,Get actors form the country or even send some one to see what the place is really like.Ireland was the second richest country in 2006 and best livabilty area, the common view as portrayed the vy the American media aint true.Come over and you find a place you were expecting to see...Unless of course you go to places like Kerry and a good majority of the very coastal west.

Sorry but just wanted to get some stuff out.
It's TV, so it's all about the budgets. Paying for 1000s of people to fly over to Ireland just to shoot would cost them an arm and a leg. It's easier and cheaper just to do it on a back lot in L.A. Heck, even the New York scenes in the show was filmed in L.A.!
I've been to Ireland many times considering I'm just over the water, and you have to remember that it's just a portrayal. I agree that the actors are not even close to an Irish accent, but the only other thing you see really is the bar they are in. It's hardly an image which is a million miles away, apart from the observation about the securicor guys gear. Quit complaining.
They have to establish where they are, in case people get confused with all the story lines, so the best way to do it is by exaggeration.
And if they shot NY scenes in Ireland they'd have to shoot everything in Ireland, since they don't leave LA. And I doubt the actors want to do that for a television show.

The only time they mentioned Celtic was when they explained that the reason they wanted to hold up the bookie was because Celtic were playing AC Milan and there was going to be massive money punted on it.
If any of you have AVP on DVD listen to the comentry and you will here Sanaa Lathan talk about a friend of hers shotting a NY scene in Ireland. In many things they go around the world fo rmovies and Tv,you dont relise as sets are done well to match the area.
