I've seen Triggs powers and what they've done to other people. So I started this thread. The power limit is 2 powers. Two powers that are somehow linked. Here's a list of Triggs' powers.
Power
Triggs has the power to control Particles, both in and out of his own body with his mind.
He has adapted this power to give himself: Flight (Grows wings and hollows out his own bones, enabling Bird-Like flight.) Regeneration (Instructs his own particles to duplicate, so heal any injury) Shielding (Turns air into a hard substance, protecting him from attacks.) Phasing (Alters the make up of a solid substance, allowing him to pass through) Nuclear Blasts (via Splitting the Atom) Disintegration (Turning the particles in an opponent to oxygen) Invisibility (Turning himself into invisible gas) Lightning Reflexes (Placing a brain cell onto every other cell in his body gets rid of time it takes for impulses to reach the brain) Suffocation (Turning Oxygen Particles into poisonous Carbon Monoxide, stooping the person breathing. He can also do this by removing all particles, creating a vacuum.) Immunity to Mental Attacks (Triggs doesn't technically have a brain, as in his head is just memory, logic and tactics. His body is controlled by the brain cells imprinted on that particular part, so he cannot be mentally attacked - it serves no purpose.) Increased Memory/Intelligence/Mental Quickness (As a result of imprinting brain cells on every other cell, he had an empty space in his head. Triggs used this to store massive amounts of memory, and Logic skills. He can do complex equations very quickly, and figure out problems and other people's body language. He can figure things out almost as quickly as a person with intuitive aptitude)
Yeah. People have quit this RPG due to Triggs' making himself near invincible. I uderstand that nobody dies here without giving consent for their character to die, But still. Those rules were implemented to limit the players and create a fair playing field.
Now to shoot some holes in the powers themselves.
Flight You state that you rearrange the particles in your body to hollow out your bones and give you wings. Do you have any idea how painful that would be? Believe me, dislocating a finger hurts, breaking a bone hurts. But hollowing out bones and sprouting out a new system for your body? That would make most trained military men pass out from the pain. Besides, you would have to change the wiring in your brain to be able to control the wings.
Regeneration This would be plausible. If you were a doctor. Anything more than a flesh wound would require a knowledge about the human body much higher than a normal man.
Shielding Ok, this is one that bothers me as well. Turning air into solid objects requires VAST amounts of air, especially if the object is bigger than 5 lbs. First off, even if the atoms of the object to be created were identical to the atoms of the gas, it still would require much more volume of Gas than the volume of the created solid. Solids are atoms that are very closely linked together, they have a definite volume and a definite shape. A gas, on the other hand, has No definite volume and NO definite shape. Also, a gas is free form and has much more energy, the particles are much more spread out. So creating anything large out of air would take vast amounts of air, creating a large vacuum, killing yourself and people around you.
Phasing I have no problem with this one, but you probably should have left it out of your powers list. I could easily see changing the material into something more dense, walking through the hole, then changing it back.
Nuclear Blasts Possible, but it would result in killing yourself. Also, I'm getting tired of typing by now, could you tell me what type of atom you split, and describe the resulting reaction?
Disintegration No problem with this.
Invisibility Again, extremely painful...
Lightning Reflexes Yeah, moving brain cells to other parts of your body... Not such a good idea... "Why do medical experts seem so concerned about bleeding in the brain? A major problem is that there is no room for this extra blood. The skull, being hard and brittle, does not expand. So the blood begins to press on softer things--like brain tissue. Brain tissue is very delicate and will stop working properly or may even die off. With large amounts of bleeding in the brain, the pressure will make critical areas of the brain stop working. Areas that control breathing or heart rate could be affected, and a life or death situation could develop within hours of the accident." --http://www.tbiguide.com/howbrainhurt.html
Suffocation I can understand this as well, but you have to be up close and personal with them. Immunity to Mental Attacks Yeah, still on that brain thing.... Bad Idea.
Increased Memory/Intelligence/Mental Quickness How in this great wide blue world do you manage this with no brain in your head? You really cannot store memories in air...
No one should have so much power.
powers should be realistic
my 2cents

"Oh to be nothing"
Exactly Echo. If you have particle manipulation it should manifest as little more then advanced transmutation. The advanced part meaning that you can create compounds so long as the base elements are available. None of this changing elements into other elements dren.

Why don't we all take a step back before I blow you up?
Triggs has been allowed to keep his powers because he has not been out of control. This is where he differs from Quantum. He joined the rpg when it first started, before the power bans were put in place, and he has yet to godmod (i.e. take control of others' characters without permission, kill people without permission, etc.). I trust him, as do many others.
THL no ones questioning his powers. Not in the slightest. Just that he keeps his powers limited to what his powers can actually do. That is atom manipulation, not atom transformation. Or the various things that Kylixer mentioned.

Well, some of what Kylixer said does make sense. But he only has to limit what needs to be limited. The flying stays (I'm not talking about the part with the wings - after all, he can fly without them), as does the regeneration, phasing, disintegration, suffocation, and enhanced intelligence (he might not be able to spread cells throughout his body but he can increase his own brain cell count, which would likely cause his memory to become photographic and his IQ level to skyrocket). Stuff that goes are the reflexes, shielding, invisibility, and immunity to mental attacks. Are we good now?
I mean, seriously, it's not like he's done anything lately. I don't get why you guys bring this up now.
Cause this guys knew. And I agree with him. Trigg's doesnt have the ability to make cells, its just too complicated. And he shouldnt be able to alter an element to become another element. All he's saying is that Trigg's power remains within the realms of his power.
