Okay, okay I know the phrase ‘jump the shark’ is a tricky subject because a lot of the time it seems like band-wagon riding. You know, a few people start claiming that the show’s jumped the shark and suddenly everyone is saying the same even if it hasn’t. But we all know that the trip from being fresh and original to self-righteous and bloated is a short one. CoughLOSTcough.
So I was thinking, what could Heroes do to lose credibility and here’s some of the things I came up with:
If they start focusing on the most popular characters, ignoring the minor ones.
If they put any of the Heroes into spandex costumes.
If the relationship drama between the characters begins to resemble an OC episode.
If Uluru turns out to be a giant rock monster.
If too many of the Heroes are pretty.
Ok, please take this with a huge grain of salt. I have not seen a single show. BUt that last one I have to agree with. While it is nice to see lot's of Eye candy (guys and girls), it is more realistic to have a good mix.
I am hopeful that I can actually watch some of this when the new season starts.
If Nathan comes back for next season, I will be VERY disappointed with Tim Kring. Even in a show like Heroes, there HAS to be credible storyline arcs and conclusions. And you don't spend all year creating pathos for Nathan only to throw it away because you can't bear to get rid of the character, or he's too popular, or you don't want to kill off a major character. He MUST be gotten rid of, that's the only way Heroes will maintain credibility with me.
I, personally, will lose respect for the show if every new character introduced has a power. I mean, I'm all for cool new powers, but there has to be a fair mix of mormal people to keep the show balanced!
