This is the first bad news of season 2, I think...at least for NBC. Airing Origins during May sweeps instead of the staple show is a terrible business move and I'm really shocked that NBC is even allowing this. It just makes no sense to me why you would allow your biggest show to air its finale in April and schedule its thus far unproven mini spin-off show to shoulder the load of May sweeps. I mean, what if it isn't a success and people start tuning out? There goes a huge chunk of ratings for NBC come sweeps. Me, I'm definitely looking forward to it and it sounds like a great idea but if for some reason I'm just not feeling it like the regular show, I won't feel like I'm missing out but not tuning in. I'm not saying that will definitely be the scenario, I really hope its not, but from a business standpoint, the mere possibility of it makes it an unnecessary risk for the network.

It's stupid for NBC to do this, I agree on that, but it doesn't really bother me personally. I guess it would be a good test to see how a Heroes spinoff would fare against other shows during sweeps.

I'm a little surprised that they decided not to air the finale in May, since there's actually one more episode this season than last season. I know they don't want a long hiatus, but they could still do a five week break and make it work.
