No, I won't be putting in English lingo and speaking in the english way, just because, well, a lot of it doesn't make sense lol. However! This takes place in England, anyone can come in whenever, but, if you do join, try to keep off the historical interactions with my character until I hit America!
Also, I'm gonna keep off the chapters, just because I think they're cool, but they throw things off sync.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoy writing long posts with a story nobody wants to read :-)
-New character in the mix, Ewan Kennedy-
This view was awesome! I could see almost anything from up here! The mountains, the city, the people! It was amazing, I would have to get pictures! Brandon was right, this was awesome!
"Wow, it's beautiful" I said to myself
It's been along time since I clearly saw mountains, they were breathtaking. If this was here, right next to me, what other sites are out there? I've heard about some sites to see. Niagra Falls, The Grand Canyon, and even those industrial places like the Space Needle or The Statue of Liberty. I'd give a lot to see them.
Oh! The sun was almost gone by now, what time was it? I looked down at my watch, 7:20, hm. I should head home. . .
I descended from the small mountain trail and into the suburb of the town. Even at night this place was never quiet. Aha! I spotted my house and ran towards it stepping right in. Both of my parents were cleaning up what looked like dinner.
"Out late again?" my dad asked
"Uh, yeah sorry, I didn't realize what time it was." I said
"Just, get ready for bed." my mom said
"No problem, need help cleaning?" I asked cheerfully
All my mom did was point a finger towards my room.
I laughed "Okay, fine fine." I said
I opened my door and stepped into my room, cold. I turned up the heated a bit and sat on the window sill looking out. There's so much out there, so much to see.
I turned to get off, only to see my dad looking at me with a look of minor disbelief.
"Son, come, sit." He told me
"Listen son, you can't keep doing this." He said
"Doing, what?" I asked
"This, day dreaming, looking out, watching, there's no profit in that." He said flatly
"Dad I don't care about profit, I care about life, what's out there, the world." I told him
"Nobody made money watching stars." He said to me
"They made money finding a way to watch them better. . ." I replied
"That's, not the point. You're not focused on anything but trees and windows. . ." he started
"Dad! I'm not you, this will not turn into a parental shadow issue. Just because I'm not trying to become class president, a senator, or whatever! Doesn't mean I can't dream about, life!" I said with a raised voice
He looked at me with a look of many emotions. Embarrassment, anger, sadness. I almost felt bad, but what I told him I said with every ounce of truth.
He stood to leave "Dream about what you want, but make sure that dream will carry you through life."
And with that, he left the room, quietly closing the door behind him. I just turned on my bed and tried to sleep. How dare he? Tell me I can't look at beauty? He hasn't seen half of what I have.
I could hear a small noise from the other room, it was my parents, obviously my mom overheard me. I got up and put my ear to the door,
"James, James! Come on, you have to understand, he's still young. Teenagers and their horomones. I don't remember you thinking for the future when you were his age. . ."
"Well no but that's why I want him to! I'm only thinking about the best for him!"
"I know, and deep down, he knows, but he needs to find all of this out on his own. Life can't be taught, honey, and you know that."
"I know, I know. . ."
The conversation died down, and I went back to my bed. Dad was great, I loved him, but sometimes, he just got so irritating. . .ugh, I need to go to bed. I'll talk with him tomorrow sometime. I fell asleep some minutes afterwards. . .

BIC: I arrived home coming back from SCHOOL (whatever you want to call it Triggs :-) ) and felt very tired. I wanted to go and sleep.
"Ewan?"
Huh? I turned around to see my mom in the hallway
"Oh, hey Mom." I said
"Ewan, weren't you, just here?" she asked
"Uh, yeah a few hours ago, before I left for school." I laughed
She rubbed her forehead
"Oh, strange." she said
"Huh? What?" I asked
"Oh, no I just thought I saw you come in, I must be getting old." she said
"Oh mum(!) you look 20!" I joked
"Well, I feel much older."
I walked down the hallway to find Dad.
"Hey, Dad." I said
He was sitting at his desk looking at polls and whatnot.
"I was, just wondering, would you, come with me, on a walk?" I asked
"Uh, yeah sure just, give me a few minutes." He replied
"Great, thanks." I said
"Sure son." He said back
I hoped this would ease him a bit.
A few minutes we were both ready to head out.
"And where are you two going?" Mom asked
"Oh, just out." I replied
"Uh huh. . ." Mom said
Dad looked pretty excited.
I walked him up to the path I found yesterday. It wasn't quite sunset, but it was fine none-the-less, we sat down.
"So this is where you go to daydream huh." He said
I looked at him bleakly
"No, this is where I go to look at life." I answered back
I pointed out towards the mountains
"You see these?" I asked
"Yeah." He replied
"No, do you see them. You're old, but take a second, and admire the beauty. All your politicians and war driven generals may tear things like these sites down. I come here to see hope, and to remember."
"Remember? Remember what?" He asked
"To remember how beautiful this place looked before government decides to destroy it in the name of peace." I answered
"Listen, Ewan, it's not like that. Sometimes we have to sacrifice things to save other, more important things."
"I've heard this kind of speech before." I said
"You see the beauty of life out here, I fight to protect it son, there's not a day that doesn't pass that I wonder whether or not I'm going to have to send kids your age into war. I pray that that day never comes." He told me
He continued "Doing this, being a Dad, isn't easy. I only want what's best for you. It's not always easy to tell what is and isn't the best choice. I'm just going off of what I know."
"I, know. I'm sorry about what I said back there, last night, and I know you're trying, but, I'm not going to be you. I'm not a politician. I wanna get out there, see the world, do something." I said
"You live in Europe you know. . . it's known for it's sites to see."
"Yeah but I want to GO. Somewhere, out there, somewhere new!" I said
"America?" He asked
"What?"
"America?" He asked blatantly
"Um I guess, that would be nice. . ."
"I understand your love for nature, but I have a love for my people, my government. In two months, I will be taking a political trip to NYC to have a conference with some political figures of the US, if you wanted, I'm sure I could take you with me. It is in the Summer afterall. . ." he explained
"Seriously?! Dad, I would LOVE that!" I said
"I thought so, but we'll still have to ask your mother (mum!!!)." He said
"Thanks Dad, I appreciate it." I said
"Yeah you shoudl be thanking me, cause if your mom lets you go that means that she's gonna take something from me."
We began descending from the trail, I felt revitalized.
"This means. . ." he continued "that I'm gonna have to watch after my belongings, and those were some beautiful mountains."
