Default Music Vid, Paint it Black

Hi folks,

This is a music video I made a few weeks ago.http://youtube.com/watch?v=Exg4sM3JGx4
My vids tend to focus on themes I see within individual episodes, this is what I picked up on from the episode ".07%"
I'd appreciate any comments and criticisms, thanks

Nice vid. I've always wanted to make a vid, but I can never find good clips. Do you download the full episodes from somewhere?

Thanks!
Yeah I download full episodes and make my own clips. That's the most time consuming part of the process but AVS Videotools and Ulead's Video & Media Studio tools have some automatic scene detection functionality. They're not perfect but they're a big help.

I download the full episodes via BitTorrent, I then make my own clips from that episode, usually with Ulead Videostudio. It has an automatic scene detection function which is really useful for clipping.
Watching each episode I'll usually pick up on a theme running through that weeks story, that in turn gives me ideas for the some songs that might fit.
I'll lay down the soundtrack, the song, first. Listening to the lyrics and the tempo gives me ideas on what scenes and clips from that episode would be a good fit.
Ulead Videostudio's a great tool for this approach and it's pretty userfriendly too. You can tweak individual clips on the storyboard to make them fit better, slowing them down, speeding them up, a little further clipping, etc.
That's pretty much the nuts and bolts of it. If you think your video needs a little eye-candy then you add effects, transitions etc without losing the tempo of the video. Then it's just a matter of bookending it with some titles and end credits.
I also use Virtualdub a lot. It's a little old and not that user friendly but it's pretty much the swiss army knife for vidding. There's not a lot you can't do with it and it has a wide range of plugins to extend its functionality even further.
If you really get into it then Adobe Premier and Sony Vegas offer some real power user functionality but I'm not at the level where I can make decent use of those apps yet.
I've seen a few sites for folks who vid Stargate, Anime, Farscape and Lost but nothing specifically for Heroes. If anyone knows of any sites or forums for Heroes vidders I'd really appreciate it.
