This will be the conclusion of my little side project concerning "The Organization". Thus far, Leon had been under the control of the Leader of "The Organization". Niel had killed Leon when he temporarily broke free of his control and absorbed his ability mastering both manipulation of light and shadow. Niel is on his way to the new Leader's office. He is on a quest to rebuild the foundations of "the organization", and remember what it once stood for.
Chapter ?: "Inspiration of an Innocent Man"
I let Leon's body lie limp on the ground and walked towards the door.
"Leon, I'll come back for you, I promise."
I closed the door behind me and stepped into the Leader's office.
A man stood looking out of a window. Outside stood giant machines, of all shapes and sizes. Men and women using various abilities and special powers stood outside, attempting to master them, and become something completely new.
"Niel. That was your name wasn't it?" The man asked
"Not to you." I answered
"Niel. Calm down. Do you remember when you were one of those, peons down there? We all were at some point. Heh, I remember you clearly. You stood out, as being able to manipulate shadows, something most scientists even in our labs would say was physically impossible, but, well most of those peons down there do things impossible now don't they?"
He continued "You were given the name Niel, interesting, it was probably no coincidence that your friend was name Leon."
I looked at him, confused.
"Oh come now, you never noticed? L-e-o-n....N-i-e-l, switch them around and they almost sound the same don't they? But I'm sure it's pure coincidence." He chuckled
"Shut up!" I said
"No, you're afraid to hear the truth about this company you so desperately cling to, you cling to defend them because it's all you've known. What you thought was your entire life was a lie. . . You thought you were just some lowly bartender, haha, oh no. You're entire life was covered in a vale of lies. Until recently you didn't even remember what your real life was.
Yes, I killed "him". That old man became so ragged in age that he forgot what his real dream had been all along, our dream, this companies dream. But I never forgot it, and I never will."
"No! You want to turn this company into a power monger, you want us to be soldiers in your army. But I won't let you do this to them. This was a place that we, with exceptional abilities, that would not be able to fit in real life, could come to and be safe. This was a shelter for those so extraordinary that no one would accept them for who they were. And you want us to become a power-mass, I won't let you change them. In time they too will be like I was, and Leon, and help bring others to this place, and be safe." I told him
"Quite inspiring, such heroism. I might cry a tear. You haven't changed Niel. I remember watching you, oh, what a sight it was. Your ability to master shadow made you an asset to this building constructed of light, and you tried to be a friend to Leon, but it wouldn't last. You spent longer and longer, away from this place, this school. Then it happened, they schemed your death, and without you Leon could focus his attention where he should have. Afterwards he became a better agent than most others, even you. Like you, he to became to involved in the matters of beta-humans, and was killed. I needed him though, and I made sure that the old man kept him alive. With some mind control and manipulation, me and a few others were able to have this place under our thumbs until, soon enough, we killed "him" and I took his place. My other friends soon cowered out and I killed them, taking their abilities as well. Soon I was the stand-alone leader, and with the younger members knowing nothing about our leadership, I ruled with an iron-fist, unchallenged. I used Laura, and Leon, to bring you both here."
"Laura? But I thought. . ." I started
"Oh no she was indeed alive and all her own, but I knew her love for this organization, same as yours, would have her lead you here, I was only unsure of when. Now, after having the old man fake Leon's death, taking this organization, and having only one more person to kill before I have both control of shadows and light at my control, there is nothing to stop me. All other powers will be obsolete once I can take both of yours. You already took care of one, now I only need the other."
I smiled
"What? Enjoy my story?" He asked
"Well" I started "At first I was going to be worried a bit, but now, I see everything will be okay." I said
"[b]Oh?" He said in question
"Yep, you said you mind controlled "him" to fake Leon's death right? Heh, how fragile did you think he was?" I asked him
"What?" He asked back to me
"Heh, "he" was much more powerful than you believe. If he allowed you to mind control him, he must have been on to you from the beginning, and knew what was happening. As such, he's set everything into motion, me, you, Leon. He knew what would happen, and must have thought the same as I did. That this organization needs to be rebuilt." I said
"Hah! You give that bag of bones much more credit than you should. He was just old and forgetful, he got soft and easy to manipulate." He said
"No, you see, you made a miscalculation, you think that a dead body lies in the room behind me, waiting for you to take his ability, but you're only half right. "He" designed our lives, me and Leon, so that in the event of something like this, we could defend it. Either me or Leon would give the ultimate sacrifice." I said
"Wrong again, I controlled Leon, he was manipulated by me." He said
"But you couldn't control him, and I killed him, by his choice." I said
"Impossible."
"Oh, very possible, and your fatal miscalculation, was that you thought "he" was old and trick-able. Oh he's old, but he was on to you from the beginning. Me and Leon, are a combination, and dual energy. We were designed to take the other's ability in the event of a death. Heh, you see, I control shadows, but I control the light to. You're fighting both Leon, and me. "He" knew exactly what to do." I said
The man looked flustered
"It makes no difference! I now have more power than you can imagine! I will kill you and take both of your abilities! After that, I will harbor all the special abilities of the world!" He screamed
"I believe, I'm here for a reason, to kill you." I said.

"So, you, with two powers, are going to defeat me, and my gargantuan library of abilities?" He said to me
I stood up, I began raising the shadows onto my skin.
"I won't need to beat you, "he" gave me everything I need to bring you down."
"What?" he asked
But I didn't answer. My light showed through the vines of shadow wrapped around my body. I charged at him.
His arm formed into a large hammer and I was thrown into a wall. Within a second he was straight infront of me. Dozens of punches were thrown into my gut. If it wasn't for the shadow, I'd be gasping for breath on the ground.
I trust a fist into his face but he disappeared. Suddenly something pulled from behind me and thrust me into a hallway, and then a sharp pain went into my back. I fell to the ground in pain.
"What was that about bringing me down?" He asked
I transluced into light, turned to face him, and wrapped myself in shadow again, and at that, he began to throw fire at me. It burned, but not badly.
"Sorry friend, fire isn't the best method to. . ."
But he charged me this time. He punched me in the face and I fell backwards, but mid-flight I stopped. What was this? I was pulled towards him quickly and he lifted his foot and pushed me off of it back towards the door. I turned into light and fell through it.
I heard thumping and then he burst through the doors and threw them both at me. The first pinned me into a wall and the next went straight into my head. Black blood oozed from a temple. The injury repaired itself by weaving shadow back into the flesh, but the blood remained.
He jumped to the ceiling, pressed off of it, and grabbed the door still pinning me in the wall. Door in hand he beat it over me head twice, splitting a cut across the top of my head. It hurt intensely. The pain was only bareable once it healed.
He split into four versions of himself. The punches flew at four times the rate that they had when there was only one of him. I couldn't get up. Punches were thrown, kicks used, a few bones had broken. They backed away.
I stood up, the broken bones had been fixed and mended in place by the shadow. I was tired.
They charged me again, I transluced into light, they all hit eachother and fell to the ground.
"You think you've mastered all of these abilities? I've barely learned to use light, the people down below us, learning to control their abilities, they take years to learn their abilities. You think you can take from another person and master their abilities already?" I said
"I, don't need to master them." He smiled "I just need to kill you!"
He ran at me again after fusing together with his dopplegangers, again, I turned into light and he hit a wall.
"I just needed to see what you knew" I told him
He threw everything, anything at me. I began to see a wave of fire, ice, parts of the ground, water in the pipes.
They bounced off my weave of shadows.
"Fine...."
I absorbed the lights and shadows. . .the scene, was indescribable. The light of the fire turned into a fire with no light. Both light and darkness were at my hands.
I flashed towards him, a shadow doppleganger flashed to his right side knocking him sideways while I grabbed him and threw him against the wall.
"You remember when I said I always had the power to bring you down, I'll prove it."
I weaved light into his skin, we became untouchable, but our thoughts were shared.
"This building was constructed from light, it runs on light, the guns, the cloak, everything is powered by light. This is why it's so high in the air, so it almost never has to go without sunlight. Watch me bring it to an end."
We sunk into the wall behind us. Suddenly we were enveloped in light. . .it sifted around and around in a funnel. The raw energy here, was amazing. He was swimming in fear.
"Please! No!" He screamed
I absorbed his light and his body flaked into light, being radiated into a sack of meat at the bottom of the room.
I stepped out of the room for a moment, and went to the intercom.
"Please, everyone must evacuate the building, by any means necesary. The building will be powering down and plummet into a local ocean soon. This is a five minute warning."
I stepped away, turned off the microphone.
"Good luck." I said alone
Five mintues later, I turned back into a being of light, and stepped through the wall, into the light chamber. This, would hurt.
I fleshed out darkness, but it was being torn and burned away faster than I could generate. It took every ounce of concetration I had to manipulate it. It was eating at my hands, my arms, my body. The shadows were being eaten by light, but I had to, finish this.
Finally, I could almost cover my face with the shadow, and then, I flew into the center of the room, the light chambers source.
Darkness enveloped and suddenly, boom. The power supply's on all levels of the construct were overcharged and blew off, the building lost it's balance and began toppling over. The cloak had been disengaged, and it began flying into the ocean. It toar through the black night, and plummeted into the ocean with almost no knowledge of it's existence.
If anything was remembered of me, I'm glad, but I hope that the good the organization had brought, is remembered by those that are different, and I hope the organization will live on through those lives we changed.
-End of the Niel/Leon series-
