I jsut find it annoying b/c David Chase pretends to be this "anti-Hollywood" type and then he does one of the most "Hollywood" things - compromises the integrity of the show in orde to leave open the option to make a movie.
I know a lot of people who thought the ending was "pure genius". I just don't agree.

That is not the way to end a show that has a large and loyal fanbase. The option to have a movie would still always be there, but you don't want to upset your viewers by leaving them unfilfilled and without a sense of closure.
