Cool Online Graphic Novels

I finally got around to reading the latest graphic novels, beginning with Walls Part 2 through It Takes A Village part 2.

I'm surprised no one else commented about FHiro's and FPeter's lack of ability to stop time. Other than being emotionally distracted, only another power-blocker like MBG...the Haitian...whomever.

Either Hana survived the satellite's reentry--which should be impossible because the satellite had no heat shields and she had no parachute--or she somehow sent her consciousness into the wireless spectrum surrounding the Earth. Possible reaction to the virus infecting her ability?
If she is a being of electronic consciousness, then she qualifies as a "ghost" and should be around until we advance beyond current wireless technologies into...whatever technology comes next.

The explosion over New York could not have been the satellite. Hana tells us specifically that the satellite was located over Australia.

Micah and Hana have exactly the same ability, except Micah's works only wired devices and Hana's works on wireless ones.

The Haitian's father, Guillame, seems to have emotion control.

Yeah, we've been talking about The Haitian's father for a while. It's an interesting story. I think it kinda sucks for The Haitian that his father obviously is more worried about getting his powers to work than his own son.

And about Hana....I thought she never even boarded the satellite? She was about to get on when a bunch of guards snuck up and pointed guns at her.

While they were pointing guns at her, she was uploding documentation into their computers to back her cover story of being an Israeli scientist working with the Chinese on a space mission.

She boarded the shuttle, approached the satellite, and tried to order it to self-destruct when the virus uploaded itself into her. She pushed off the shuttle and landed on the satellite, supposedly giving it enough momentum to destabilize its orbit and cause reentry. She rode it down to Earth in a blaze of glory.

*********

Guillame had a lifetime of protecting his village from the Duvaliers as well as some ego at having abilities. Losing those and his village was too much to bear, even if that meant casting aside his own son.

Didn't see them having the same abilities. Micah can effect electronic devices with his mind, repairing them, changing them etc. Hana can communicate with devices via wifi/gsm/bluetooth ect and thus communicate with most devices on the planet, she can not do anything outside of what someone could do from a keyboard (hacking, sending emails, couterfeit documents etc) Micah appears to be able to physically alter a system (remember his repair work early in the season?) whilst Hana has to work within the confines of current technology. Similar maybe but in no way "exactly" the same.

Imagine it as the diference between a Web engineer (Hana) and a systems engineer(Micah). They both cross over at points but have completel different jobs. And yes she is "alive and well" and living in the interweb. Thought the Novel made that clear?

That does seem to be the message being delivered: Hana isn't really dead, only physically dead.

But that is the difference, Micah requires touch for his and it works on electonic devices and Hanna's control is over wireless signals. Hence , when she confrotned Ted, she closed her eyes and wrote to him via his IM.

I agree that it is wrong for Haitian's father to ignore his son for the puroppose of power but his father's position of houngan is a double edged sword. He is a leader and thus he has to put the needs of his village over personal needs such as that of his family.

I would like to know whatever happened to the Haitian's mother? I have forgotten whether it notes what happened to her or not. The reaosn for my asking is because what we have seen is that normally the metahumans produce other metahumans only when mating with their fellows.

And to head the debate off at the pass: Metahuman children have been seen to only come from other metahumans or else they are spontaneous evolution. However, Angela Petrelli does present us with an odd moment. It is never said that Nathan's and Peter's father had powers. Nor does it state that Angela has some...no matter how much it is intimated and hinted at elsewhere. Maths, I refer to out discussion about Candice and her true form. So what we have is Nathan and Peter could have developed spontaneously (entirely possible) or Angela and their father were both metahuman (entirely possible).

But leading this back into the previous point, is the Haitian's mother a meta and if so, what happened to her?

It is strongly hinted that both elder Petrellis had power, but if the elder Mr. Petrelli is Dallas from the graphic novels then apparently he didn't. Angela might have an ability, but we haven't seen any evidence of this.

Some supers are the children of supers (Hiro and Micah); others appear to be spontaneous first-generation supers (Theodore, Gabriel, and Matt).

The novels make no mention of the Haitian's mother.

I understand it is hinted...much as it is even hinted that Hiro's father (whose name utterly escapes me) is a meta but never genuinely stated. I hesitate to say for certain but it is great for speculation that the Haitian's mother is meta and yes, though we did see that the suposed Kensei was Walter Koenig, I would like to also point out that many shows dealing with time travel have used the same actor for an ancestor so as to point out in very blunt terms family resemblance. I am hoping that out esteemed cult leader, The Kring (All hallowed be his name) has avoided this in leiu of giving us yet another answer.

Though I would like to state this: Does anyone else find it odd that in the span of a few short hours, Hiro learned to beat his father at sowrdplay? Unelss of course, Hiro used his powers in some odd way to dilate the continuum inside that training room so as to make the time draw out so that what Ando found to be hours was perhaps days to Hiro and his father? And if that is the case, then Hiro would show that he is the most powerful of them all. Yes, even more powerful than Peter because all it takes is for Hiro to freeze time before Peter can conceive of the thought to make it start up again or to protect himself and then WHAMMO!

I didn't know that Mr. Bester had ever time-travelled back to 17th century Japan. As a P-12, he would definitely be a powerful metahuman and a skilled instructor for any other telepaths out there. Poor Matt doesn't have the power or skill (yet) to be more than perhaps a P-9...but we'll see.

Or did you mean George Takei?
