Tim Kring Signs Record 2-Year Deal with NBC
It pays to have a network TV’s only hit show. In a year when NBC could barely pay its bills (I’m being overly facetious here, of course), Tim Kring’s Heroes was NBC’s one major (and only?) hit, and will no doubt spawn imitators like crazy next year (if it hasn’t already — Bionic Woman, anyone). Usually network shows are renewed only annually, even if popular. Network execs don't take risks.
