Heroes: Fan Character Origins
I hope no one minds me doing this, if you do go ahead and get rid of it, but I got this idea from the real show, post your characters background and story from before the explosion of New York.
I'll do all mine separately.
Ryker First:
Ryker was born in the town of NewburyPort, Massachusetts. He and his family were quite happy together, what his mother didn't know was that his father was not who he said he was. He worked for a small secret company whos job it was to kill the people with abilities. When Ryker was 2, his mother and him were forced to flee his town when Ryker's father's gun turned on them. Ryker didn't understand anything that happened because he was much too young.
The family of two settled in Coconut Creek, Florida, somewhere small and unexpecting. Ryker lived a relatively normal childhood, never really guessing or remotely thinking of his father. When he turned 13, he finally thought to ask about his father. His mother told him that his father died when he was young. Ryker believed the story and went on with his life but when he turned 15 his mother thought it was time for the truth.
She told Ryker the story of his father and told him to mever go looking for him or even try to to find him because he could hurt him. Ryker was very upset at the news but went on with his life. Merely days after Ryker's sixteenth birthday, his father found them. Ryker came home to find his mother dead and his father waiting. They had a scuffle that ended in a gunshot wound to Ryker shoulder. Ryker managed to knock the man out.
Ryker was forced to flee but not without his father's gun. He went to Northern Georgia and didn't try to attend High School again, he lived off of the streets and was perfectly happy with that until he met Chloe. He wanted to marry her right away but she wanted to finish school. Ryker agreed but a year after his father found him.
Ryker fled Georgia as well and ended up in New York City alone. Chloe was still in Georgia. Ryker was filled with anger towards his father and wanted revenge on him... revenge on anyone who hurt anyone else. He walked the streets at night and became known for his work.
One night he came down a small alley and witnessed a thug murder a man and his wife. Ryker brought out his father's gun and killed the thug. He only killed 2 more people while there, the rest were simply attacked and taught lessons. Of course the police didn't get who was the good guy so Ryker was forced to head to another city.
Chloe found him after she graduated high school and moved in with him. They lived happily together after that. Before the explosion Chloe went out of town to see her family and soon after New York blew up, throwing them all into this mess.
Ok, there's Ryker's! Post yours too.

"Music was invented because everyone needs something to run to, even when they think no one is listening."
Nick was born in Orange County, CA in 1990. He had a fairly privileged life up until he turned 12. That was when his parents got a divorce. He and his mother moved north to Los Angeles, while his father stayed in Orange County. After the divorce, Nick started to rebel more and more. He even landed himself in juvie for 15 days after an assault charge. However, with the help of a particular caring therapist in juvie, he started to reform. By the time he got to high school, he was a different person.
For his first two years in high school, he was a star receiver and cornerback for his school's football team. He also maintained a 3.5 GPA, while also doing extracurriculars. Colleges were starting to take notice of his athletic prowess in football. His life was starting to get back on track, with a bright future ahead. And then (seven months before the explosion), he discovered something incredible: he had a superpower. His senses were heightened to incredibly acute levels. He spent the months leading up to the explosion trying to understand why he had these gifts and how to control them.
Grayson A. Dorian was born in Houston, Texas on the date of January 28th, 1986. The day the space shuttle The Challenger exploded minutes after liftoff. They lived in Texas until Gray was about five years old. Up to this point in his life, Gray was a very well-behaved little boy, quiet, and did what he was told. He had a knack for blaming things on his imaginary friend Rodolfo whenever things would turn up in a place they weren't before or if anything broke or shifted.
At age six, they moved to Worthington, Ohio to lead a quieter life in the suburbs. He never really had strong ties to his parents as they were seldom around. His father worked a lot, and his mother was a home-maker, always out in her garden. Growing up, he was the goody-two-shoes on his block. He always wanted to do the right thing, and rarely wanted to cause trouble. He flirted with the idea a couple times of giving in and just going along with whatever his rebellious friends did, but always gained control of himself and walked the other way.
As a teenager he introverted himself more and withdrew from a lot of social scenes. This was his time of finding himself. He began to read a lot, any book from the school library. His favorite books were on the weather. He then took an interest in parapsychology and metaphysics after a bizarre occurrence in his kitchen. One day he had come home from school feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. He came into the kitchen after tossing his bookbag onto the table. He had a mild headache and when he reached his hand out to open the cabinet above him, an empty jar slid along the counter and crashed into the wall shattering into pieces.
After that random manifestation when he was 13, he had little luck trying to reproduce the same effect even after reading tons of books on the stuff. In high school he came out of his shell a bit more, Theater helped him do that. He loved to act and pretend to be someone he wasn't. He always wished he could be someone else. During his senior year in American Literature, his powers manifested all at once causing him to lose control, tapping into his maximum potential. In the series of 10 minutes, he unwillingly devastated the north corner classroom and the area it resided in. Authorities pulled him from the wreckage completely comatose and turned him over to health care specialists.
He spent two and a half years in his coma until one day he woke up. He awoke to a pristine white room with no door and a two way mirror. He had been kept in a testing facility known as HELIX. There he met with a man named Jonathan Siran, an acclaimed metaphysicist who believed that Gray had unmitigated psychic powers. He worked with Siran for a couple months out of his coma making slow progress, and then one day, Gray completely lost control again and destroyed a large portion of the facility. When he came to, he quickly made his escape back to Worthington.
Upon returning to his home, he found nothing. No family, no furniture, no sign of anyone living there. He turned quickly to his best friend Sam Voss who aided him in the beginning development of his abilities and trekked to Philadelphia en route to NY, where he met up with a whole slew of other supers like himself.

The two twin brothers are son's of Marie and Jonathan Williams. The two married happily under the oath of God. However they both had a secret. Each of them controlled a form of an element. Their father could control Water at will. Their mother controlled the element of Air.
There is a rumor that if a child is born from parents who both control an element, the their potential would be uncharted, and hard to control. Even from ancient times, this was true. Twin's were an even darker story.
Twin's in itself withing a family of two usually created a child of good and a child of evil. When the mother had gone to a Psychic reading with some friends as a joke, the psychic told her a story that was so convincing that she told her husband and finally revealed her ability to him. He then revealed his to hers, and knowing about twins and elementals were then scared.
However they made an even bigger mistake. A family member from the father's side found out and wanted the children for himself.
As the mother and father of Tristan and Aiden, decided to split each taking a child with them and leaving each other, they found problems.
In the south where, Tristan was born, his mother died in a car crash that wasn't by accident. In her last bit of energy, she managed to send Tristan infront of a church. When the man who worked for the uncle searched the car, Tristan was nowhere to be found and was quickly adoptted.
In New York, The father opened up a little Italian restaurant and began work as a cook. There were regulars, two name Robert and Jade Hall, the future creators of Hall Hotels. One fateful night, the place burned down in flames. Aiden had just come into his powers, so the fire didn't burn him. However, his father perished and burned. Aiden was asopted by the two regulars and became heir to the Hall Hotel fortune.
With both parents gone, the two grew up in very different lifestyles. Tristan faced struggles of money, food, and friends having very little control over his abilities, where Aiden lived a life of luxury and used and controlled his powers. The two were never meant to meet until one day at a Hall hotel.
There was one other secret the mother kept from the father. The psychic whose predictions had all come true, told her one other thing. With two twins, one of good and one of evil, they will fight and only one will win. The other will die by the hand of his brother.

Alexis was born to James and Sierra Lane. However, one day her father left \ her mom to search for himself. He had just learned he was different and felt that he couldn't confront his family as a freak. Sierra's mom was still pregnant.
By the 6th month, Sierra re-married as her southern Christian parents refused to let their grand daughter be without a father. The man's name is unimportant. However, his treatment of Alexis was terrible. He was the evil stepfather. He drank, he cheated, he hit, and he hurt Alexis often.
When she was about 16, she realized she had a gift. Her hands gave off heat that allowed her to heal things. The scars on her back were soon gone.
She became a star athlete trying to impress her stepfather but it was no good. Nothing that she did was good enough. She hated them both. Her mom for letting her dad do that to her and him for being him.
It wasn't until she blew up a balance beam that she was disowned. There would be no daughter of his as a freak on tv. She left and met some friends who were like her.
One day she hopes to find her true father... maybe then, she'll know why she is the way she is.
On stage the real world would disappear for Dilann Roth. In reality, she was a young woman from a poor white-trash family from a trailer park in Kentucky. She had been told most of her life that she was worthless and would never amount to anything. Only one person, who had ever seemed to care had been her father. “Baby, you can do whatever you want. You are the smartest and prettiest little girl I know” He would always tell her. But he was taken away from her. Killed in a car accident. Unfortunately he crack addict mother remarried when she was 15 years old…to Dennis. Dilann hated everything about Dennis. He treated her like a piece of garbage for three years and her mother did nothing but get high and pass out on the couch. Dennis was a very aggressive man and often took that aggression on Dilann. Dilann would have to hide bruises that Dennis would leave on her, from teachers and friends. Dennis even turn Dilann’s own mother against her. She forced Dilann to move out of the small trailer she had lived in for 18 years. Luckily she had been preparing to leave she had money and a job.
Dilann took to her music. Her father had taught her how to play the guitar at a young age. She dreamed of “making it big” and leaving the small town life behind her. She played the occasional gig at a local bar. It paid the rent and she did what she loved. She felt like she was someone completely different when she was on stage. She was happy, happier than she had ever been in her life. Even though the dingy little bar was no place she would ever be discovered.
Everything changed one day for Dilann. She had just gotten off stage and went to the bar for a drink. She met a stranger that would change her life and send her hundreds of miles away from home. His name was Max and he knew she was special. She has a special power. She didn’t even know she had. He told her if she went to New York, his company could use a girl like her. The money was well worth her wild and she could perform on a real stage. She was on the next bus to NY.
I hope it's not too long. I got on a roll when I wrote it
Pandemonium aka Pan is a troubled youth who doesn't like the world he was born into. Seeing the people he hated turn into rich and powerful people only fueled his rage until his want to be in another time became so strong it transformed his genes into allowing him to do so. He wants nothing more than to destroy people and their dreams. He wants all the normal people dead and the rest of the people with abilities to live. Those that get in his way, he destroys.
Shawn Pent was born the lovechild of William Jameson and Olivia Weeler in San Fransisco, California. Unfortunately, they couldn't afford to care for him, so they gave him up for adoption (I'm planning to build a storyline around this later). Eventually, he was adopted by Matthew and Roberta Pent in Seattle, Washington. He lived a life not knowing of his true origins until his 13th birthday, when his parents told him the truth. Strangely, he never felt any curiousity about his biological parents.
One ordinary day, he was sitting at his desk at work, he was shuffling through random papers when he noticed a hissing sound. Looking down, he found his hands glowing, and a hole in his papers. The next day, someone who said his name was "Mohinder" called him and asked about his power. Creeped out, Shawn didn't talk to him. For the next several days, Shawn tested out his power, until he came to harm someone he loved.
Clark was originally born in Arlington Virginia. But moved to Seattle when he was 2 years old, his parents alwaya fought a lot and his father was a deadbeat. They got divorced when he was 4 years old.
He always felt like an outcast, his brothers were the popular ones, and he was the artist. He always seemed to draw himself flying through the clouds, and he always knew that one day he would be something great.
On his 16th birthday he got his chance, he was walking home from school one day and he saw a dog about to fall off a roof so as he dove to catch the dog, he landed on the ground, he just kept going. He was flying. So over time he learned to control it and has he now can so much control that he just thinks how fast he wants to go.
He now has his eyes set on New York, and he arrived one month before the explosion.
