So now that the bomb never had a chance to go off in New York, is the future in "Five Years Gone" totally changed? The bomb didn't kill Micah or D.L.( which, in FYG, didn't Niki say that the bomb killed D.L. while Hiro said he was in protection?) so no potential "love connection" for Peter and Niki? Ando didn't die, so does Hiro keep his innocence or will his visit to feudal Japan change that? I just wonder if aspects of "Five Years Gone" are still possible in this new future...what do all of you think?

Nope. The "Five Years Gone" future is no more.

Or DL is dead. He was alive at the end of the finale, but Kring could still make it so that his bullet wound killed him a little later. It wouldn't surprise me if he's the one that ends up dead, rather than Nathan or Matt.

an alcoholic. Niki is a recovering alcoholic, and it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine her going back to the bottle if her husband dies.

I've always said that the Five Years Gone episode was just a fun "what if" for the writers. Every sci-fi/fantasy show gets to do one at least per year to keep the creative juices flowing.
