I came across this interesting comparison of the Heroes and Lost season finales. This is very pro-Lost and anti-Heroes, but before you start trashing the writer, I want you to keep an open mind. Even though I do enjoy Heroes more, the writer of this article made some good points, albeit with some excessive cussing. I don't agree with everything he said, but some of it does make sense.

Re: Comparison of the Heroes and Lost finales
Couldn't you read all the envy written into that diatribe? "Lost" and its followers are trying to make themselves feel better because "Heroes" has consistenty higher ratings and a larger, more dedicated fanbase.
I agree that Lost followers have to have a desire for intellectual challenge. They have to--the people I have heard talking about the show keep going on about how much the show doesn't make any sense!

My brother watches Lost I watch Heroes. Same fight different angle. Good lord let's just get measuring tapes out and see whether Peter Petrelli or Jack Shephard has the bigger member.
I consider it a huge waste of time and effort for people to continue with this "My show is better than your show" thing when it comes to Lost and Heroes. Either you like one or the other, you like both, or you dislike both. Pick your preference and move on. I mean, healthy discussion would be one thing, but most of time its near all-out flame wars and I just don't get it. Me, I'm a fan of both shows. In fact they're the only current running primetime shows I follow. That's my preference. Why some fans who favor one or the other, journalists included, continue this game is beyond me. Again, a waste of time, and more especially, emotion. I mean, take this article as example. Its true, the guy does have some decent points. But maybe more people would be willing to read through his thoughts if he wasn't a massive tool towards a certain fanbase.
Now, my personal opinion is that Lost had the superior finale. Heroes made a few mistakes in their final episodes but this is their first season and I have hopes that they remedy those problems next season. Their three-part finale format didn't really work for a lot of people. The two episodes before the finale felt too much like filler, with the action really only beginning to pick up in the final minutes of Landslide. I personally would go with the two-hour finale route from now on. Shows with epic storylines such as this seem to warrant it.
Anyway, I guess when you have such dedicated fanbases like both of these shows (I gotta disagree with you Mathsorcerer, take it from me I know for a fact that both sides have a nearly equally dedicated fanbase, being a member of both) things get heated when discussing them together, but its really sometimes worth it to take a step back and look at what you're so adamantly arguing about. Its television. The individual picks the shows that suit them. I know somewhere out there there's lots of people who watch Extreme Makeover and America's Top Model while I personally wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. Your mileage may vary.
Hey karambit, you and your brother are comparing the wrong two characters! Its all about Nathan Petrelli and Desmond David Hume.

I have no idea about "lost", I tried to watch it once, but I didnt understand. So, I have no clue what that show does. Maybe is a good show, maybe not, but Im LOST, in "lost".
i have heard of a lot of people who stopped watching lost because it got too confusing. There were only supposed to be two series of Lost but because the producers, writers etc were getting so much money out of it and because it was a huge hit, they decided to make more series. In my opinion, not matter how well a tv series is doing, don't ruin it by extending it more than was planned for!
