Sylar evolve into a guy by absorbing the goodness and humanity from one of his victims when taking their ability. Many conflicts could come out as other Heroes who had fought with Sylar when he was evil would still try and destroy him. It could also be a gradual process where Sylar suddenly finds it difficult to kill without knowing why. You could also create conflicts where a ruthlessness Sylar had as evil interferes with his ability to stop another evil character.
As a counter balance, Peter could find it is difficult to maintain his general goodness and humanity when he absorbs a person's power that is totally evil.
It would be an evil character different than Sylar because Sylar absorbed power generally from characters who were not evil. Perhaps the villain who is worse than the bogeyman whose soul is evil would be a threat to Peter because Peter seems to have no control over whose ability he absorbs.
Re: Some developments in the show that I like to see
The problem with this is that when Peter and Sylar absorb powers, they don't absorb that person's "feelings." Sylar has killed plenty of good people, and he's still a baddie. Peter absorbed Sylar's power and he's still a nice dude. They just absorb the powers, nothing more.
Re: Some developments in the show that I like to see
yeah i don't think Sylar absorbs feelings or emotions (don't think he ever will), it's all about the person. every person is capable of being bad or good. i think Sylar feels like he's the good guy cause he's taking abilities away from people who don't deserve them and no one can understand that. he's brainwashed himself... but i hope in the second season we do see a "kinder" Sylar.
as for Peter he seems like the good guy now, but it can go either way next season... he could go bad. Kring hinted that.
Re: Some developments in the show that I like to see
well i hope peter does stay good, and syler just takes moreof a backseat role. that way, we can see peter become a hardened warrior like he is in 5 years gone/string theory
Re: Some developments in the show that I like to see
i really like future Peter. there are going to be some people who will want to see Peter go bad and some who want him to stay the same but it would be interesting to see him "different".
Re: Some developments in the show that I like to see
I think the Heroes power or ability could be specifically tied to a character's good or evil character. In Greek mythology, mortals that acquired power from the Greek gods could have cursed limitations on that power. Cassandra could accurately predict the future but no one would believe her.
Imagine Sylar getting a power like a shield that prevented from being killed. Yet that same shield power might limit his other powers that kill or injure people. Sylar would have the ultimate power of invincibility while limited in his ability to harm others.
Imagine Sylar having to struggle to get rid of a power that he originally wanted. I think Heroes could focus more on the benefits and curses of each person's special abilities.
Re: Some developments in the show that I like to see
Only in the sense of being freaks in society. Nathan Petrelli was worried about his power to fly only in the sense that society might be afraid of him and thrown him in jail. He said as a politician he would do that to others.
An example of a power that comes with a curse is the woman Sylar killed that had extraordinary hearing. Remember the pain Sylar went through when Suresh used a tuning fork on him (after subduing him with curari in the chai tea). With all of Sylar's power, I am surprised no one else as tried to attack Sylar's power of hearing as a vulnerable point of attack. Imagine a ultra high frequency sound attack on Sylar's hearing power.
They have not explored the full dimensions of this possibility. Painkiller Jane possibilities for the the cheerleader has not been touched yet as a topic.
