Imagine meeting your immortal father 300+ years before you're born. Sounds like Chapter 2 is going to be a bit interesting.
Also explains a bit about why his dad is so capable with the Sword. Takezo Kensei = Hiro's Father is sounding more and more like a strong possibility the more I go over it in my head. All those bedtime stories, and his talk about waiting for one of "the family" to ascend.. Could have been having kids for 300 years waiting for one of them to develop a power that could equal his.
Also, if you're immortal, you're a lot more willing to stab yourself in the heart.
I agree Kensei is Hiro's father. His ability is immortality, this would be confirmed by his comment when he said he had been waiting for one of his children to fulfill his legacy. He only has two children presently that we know of.

Also, don't make the mistake of confusing "immortality" with "longevity". Remember Tolkein elves--they didn't age upon reaching adulthood but could be killed with relative ease.
