I just noticed the HEROES Symbol in the ad for the Jittetsu Arms - Bladesmith that Ando found in the exclusive video scene in the swf first posted here:
More about Jittetsu/Masamune Swordsmiths can be found here, if you're interested...

I actually saw one of his blades once, years ago. I am still impressed to this day.
Wild! I read that there were only a few "signed" works of his around; they do look slick!
I wonder if people don't read this thread 'cuz of the title? I tried not to put spoilers in the subject, but people might dismiss it as another one of my numerous goofy posts.

I doubt Kaito is immortal, but an extemely useful albeit not overt power is longevity--greatly reduced aging like a Tolkein dwarf. He might even conceivably not age at all like a Tolkein elf.
If that is the case, then Kaito could be Takezo Kensei!

Well, he could be similar to Wolverine in how maybe once he reaches a certain age, he stops aging.
And if he is Kensai, then it shows he's full of himself because he told stories of Kensai every night to Hiro when he was a kid. Seriously, who tells stories about himself? I think it's a little egotistical, although I'd probably do the same.

It could probably end up that the Nakamura fam is related to Takezo, and Kaito could be him somehow, but why bring up the (incorrectly-spelled) name of Juttetsu in the ad, implying the Masamune Juttetsu, or the 10 disciples/swordsmiths of Masamune? Do you think that the guy named Mr. Claremont, which could allude to "Days of Future Past" X-men creator Chris Claremont, would presume himself to be one of the Juttetsu and give his bladesmith shop such a name?
Also, I could easily be incorrect, but Nakamura is a pretty common surname, and usually the upper class kept better genealogical records than those whose common last names were based on where they lived. I'm not saying the Juttetsu were more common folk than Takezo, but story-wise, it seems the fam shouldn't be the Nakamuras if they were a higher-class fam. Unless Nakamura is not really the true surname...

Honestly, I don't know. Too many unanswered questions and too many probable answers to determine what is accurate.
The only thing we do know about the situation is that Kaito has an ability; alas, we know not its nature.
A little disturbing, though, is Kaito's reference to Takezo's sword as "unimportant". Although on the one hand it is (it is merely a thing, after all), it is still a work of art in and of itself and does have considerable history tied to it. It's a shame to see it snapped in half like that.

So if you have seen a Masamune sword, are you familiar with what a well-made sword looks like? And if so, can you tell if, in the show, Takezo's sword was well-made?
