So does the front page have a new format/layout?

Oh yeah, that. Heh heh. Had a few hours to kill and thought I'd slap on a new coat of paint. I don't think it's finished yet, but what do you guys think anyway? Give me suggestions!

Everything looks good to me. The only thing i might suggest is making the words in the top left linked to each of those areas. I dont know enough about web design or how the actual site is set up to know whether or not it's possible. But i think doing that would help out a lot. It'd make for easier access to those areas than the smaller links in the sidebar.

I see what you mean. I would have to slice up the masthead for that, and that would ruin your logo.

But you're right, I don't really like it, it looks like a menu but it doesn't work! I think I might change it, make it one of those phrase of the day/week/month, etc. I.e. like "Save the cheerleader, save the world", but of course that's gone now. Oh, I got it...

Yeah with all the stuff over there, it did look like a menu. The phrase thing is a really good idea, but i'd try going back to the other font style that you had before. Looks much more professional than the comic sans font thats up now. But definitely stick to putting phrases there

BTW is there a link to the forum on the front page? Cuz I don't see one.....I don't personally need it, but it would be useful for newcomers.

Should be one under the main menu.
