Apparently ABC’s juggernaut of a show “Lost” is no longer such a juggernaut. This article from The Triangle Online opines about how “Lost” has been “hemorrhaging viewers at a rapid pace”, viewers who are now jumping on the “Heroes” bandwagon. One reason for the lost in viewership, the author asserts, is that “when Lost began, [...]
Just copying and pasting my reply about that article from elsewhere,
for the efficiency of it. Quick recap- someone posted what they thought, and I quoted the part with which I was in agreement:

I don't understand why people think it's either this or that. I love LOST and I love Heroes both. Why should I have to choose between the two? They're not even run on the same night. Even if they had the same slot, it wouldn't matter so much in 2007. Both shows are available online at their respective websites and a lot of people have DVRs.
But I think I'm posting from an unusual point of view. Even though I agree with the quoted statement, I also haven't tuned in to watch LOST this season, either. Seems like I should be able to watch both, but I tend to only set aside a finite amount of time to watching TV, 'cuz of priorities. I focus on one (or sometimes two) show(s), and then have to play catch-up with others that aired within the same timeframe (even if they were on at different times/channels/days).
I don't really understand how a Lost fan can jump ship and join Heroes, cuz they're on different nights. You could watch both of them easily. Of course, it's not surprising to me that people like Heroes more than Lost.
Yeah, you don't really have to jump ship rather just prefer Heroes to Lost. I still watch both. Only network primetime tv that I watch period.
Though I still say the scrutiny Lost receives, Heroes will get a taste of next season. Its flaws (and it does have a couple) will be called out more freely just like Lost's flaws began to be criticized more heavily. Once something's not fresh and new anymore, it becomes ripe for complaining. Some legit, a whole lot just nit-picking.

Well I think it's more of priorities. It used to be that "24" came before EVERY show for me. Now it's "Heroes". I catch up with "24" whenever, usually weeks after the episode airs. So in a sense I have jumped ship from "24" to "Heroes" because my priority is now "Heroes". I'm guessing it's similar to that.
