Default A possible 7-week break from HEROES?!?

Gleaned from here:
Quote:
NBC'S NEW IMPROV COMEDY SERIES 'THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE' --TELEVISION'S MOST DANGEROUS NEW COMEDY CHALLENGE -- PREMIERES MONDAY, APRIL 9 AND APRIL 16 BEFORE RESUMING IN REGULAR DAY AND TIME ON WEDNESDAYS BEGINNING APRIL 18 (8-9 P.M.)
Published: February 26, 2007

Guest Stars Who Dare to Try Improv Include Jennifer Coolidge, Bryan Cranston, Joel McHale, Tom Arnold, Fran Drescher, Fred Willard, Nicole Sullivan, Tom Green, Chelsea Handler, George Takei, Shannon Elizabeth, Paul Rodriguez, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Mo'Nique, Alanis Morrisette, Former "Seinfeld" Stars Jason Alexander and Wayne Knight, and Ana Gasteyer of "Saturday Night Live"

BURBANK, Calif. -– February 26, 2007 -- NBC's new improv comedy challenge series "Thank God You're Here" – hosted by David Alan Grier ("In Living Color") alongside presiding improv judge Dave Foley ("NewsRadio") -- will premiere on Monday, April 9 (9-10 p.m. ET) and Monday, April 16 (9-10 p.m. ET), preceded by "Deal or No Deal" (8-9 p.m. ET). The wildly unpredictable series will then resume in its regular day and time on Wednesday, April 18 (8-9 p.m. ET).
So if you figure that previously there was mention of a 5-week break, now, if the start of non-HEROES Mondays is the 12th of March, then the earliest Monday for a return of HEROES is April 23rd, 2007, which is sorta related to HRG's access code (42307) for his Primatech Paper voicemail (although I guessed the wrong episode when I submitted the question last week for the CBR "Behind the Eclipse" question and was told it meant nothing anyway...). In other words, that could mean a possible 6-Monday or 7-week break from new HEROES eps. Bummer. On the up-side, George Takei is gonna try some stand-up!

Yes, I noticed the lack of listing for Heroes after "Parasite" as well.

Last week, I posted the nbcumv ep descriptions for Andy Barker and Raines, and at the time, there was only mention of a "5-week" break, so if this new improv show starts up during that time, that could push back ep 20 by 2 weeks; that extra time off was what I was emphasizing...

Default A 7-week break from HEROES confirmed

As an update to the speculative original post about a 7-week break, there is confirmation from Tim Kring in this NYPost article:
Quote:
'HEROES' SPRING BREAK
SKETCHING OUT SEASON TWO OF UNLIKELY HIT SERIES
By ADAM BUCKMAN
March 5, 2007 -- THE creator of "HEROES" is facing a cliffhanger of his own that will leave him in suspense for six weeks.

The question: Will his red-hot NBC series take a hit in the ratings after it disappears for six consecutive Mondays and then returns to face off against one of prime-time's biggest powerhouses, ABC's "Dancing with the Stars"?

Tim Kring admits he's concerned.

"We're living in a time with a very fickle audience that can get swayed by anything shiny and new," he said on the phone from L.A. on Friday. "While we are off, ABC is going to have 'Dancing with the Stars' on, and I can't imagine that it won't take a bit of a bite out of us."

For the second time this season, "HEROES" is taking a six-week rest following tonight's episode (9 p.m. on Ch. 4). It's the usual problem: The network TV season is 37 weeks long and "HEROES" has only 23 episodes. Five episodes will be left when "HEROES" returns April 23.

In the meantime, ABC is bringing "Dancing with the Stars" to Monday nights starting March 19 (8-10 p.m.).

Only in its first season, "HEROES" - the comic book-style series about ordinary people who discover they have extraordinary powers - is the brightest spot on NBC's lineup, averaging more than 14.5 million viewers each week.

Kring is hoping tonight's cliffhanger episode - in which at least one character will be killed when the evil Sylar (Zachary Quinto) harvests his or her brain - will be so explosive that the show's fans will forgive its hiatus and flock back to the show when it returns. ...

Looks like Tim and Jeph need to get together and compare notes! Tim has confirmed the 7-week break, yet Jeph is still stickin' with 5... From a WonderCon session:
Quote:
The big question on everyone's mind was uttered as Craig asked everyone what was coming up in their projects.

Loeb started by saying tomorrow night’s episode (Monday, March 4) of "Heroes" will end the current story arc as well as reveal and introduce the character of Mr. Linderman. After that episode, there will be a 5 week break of re-runs until the show returns with the final 5 episodes of the season. Every question left unanswered since the first episode will be resolved by the season finale. Except there will be new questions to be answered in the form of a season cliffhanger to ensure viewers return for the next season.
Jeph could be messing people up by tellin' the incorrect info!
