This reminds me of the talk that after 5 Seasons of LOST, they are thinking about making a movie to end the run. (Kinda what Firefly/Serenity turned out to be)
I would much rather they go by X-Files route and make the movie while still creating the show. However, that is usually hard since the movie usually has to be a stand-alone as well as inform those that didn't watch the series who these people are and what the heck they are doing.

I'm not sure what would be gained by making Heroes into a movie. A recurring show allows for much more character development & growth than a movie ever could. And so far I've been quite impressed with the special effects used.

I don't know about a Heroes movie. I enjoyed Serenity, but the only reason that movie was made was because FOX ended Firefly's run way too soon. I doubt that'll happen to Heroes, considering the show's ratings.
Actually the X-Files movie was made to end the series but they later decided to continue it. I've also heard that there might be another X-Files movie coming out this year but maybe it's just a rumour.
I LOVE the idea of a HEROES movie and then, in x files style, the series picks right up where the movie left off. This show is so amazing. There's a spirituality to it, an element of truth to it, if that makes any kind of sense. I've downloaded some episodes from iTunes to catch up and the moment I press play, I don't want it to end. This show and Battlestar Galactica are perhaps the best shows on television. May it never end.
