Sorry if this has been posted already, but its been on my mind for so long now and i can't figure it out.
It's about when Nathan Petrelli goes to vegas, gets set up in the hotel room. He then meets up with Mr. Bennet and the Haitian guy. They go for a run, he tries to climb over the fence but they bring him down. Now Nathan is staring at the two guys and then flies straight up into the air. At that point Mr. Bennet has this shocked face as if he didn't know he had powers.
Why was he allowed to fly away? As far as i know, the Haitian has the ability to stop other peoples powers whenever hes around. As was the case when Matt Parkman was trying to listen in on their conversations(in the parking lot). The Haitian wasn't aware he was trying to listen, yet was still able to block the conversation. So this means that the Haitian only needs to be near the person to be able to block the powers. So, i'm really not sure how he was able to fly away.
so the haitian guy is the one whose always with bennet. at first i thought he was to stopped the heroes, but then it seems that they want to know if those heroes are active or not and learn what they can do.
It appears that he can only block mental powers- that is, Matt's ability of telepathy and Eden's power of persuasion.
Oh, and welcome to the forum!
Thanks.
It appears none of my friends are willing to get into this show no matter how hard I tell them its awsome. With this kind of show, its really hard to keep it all inside lol.
Is is possible that the Hiatian was just caught off guard. He did not know what Nathan's specific ability was and and by the time he had reacted Nathan was out of range.

MBG, as noted, can block only mental powers; Nathan's ability to fly is physical. Theoretically, it could be mental--a limited form of projected telekinesis that works only on himself--but it could also be that Nathan has some form of gravitic control and can induce an accereleration vector on himself. The specifics are irrelevant.
HRG wanted Nathan to fly away to force him to use his power in public and to test how fast he can go. Apparently, it's fast enough to create a small sonic boom.
